Proof of Echelon?

by Dimentia_Syndicate

A couple of things first. I am fairly confident that most people have heard a of a non-existent government project titled Echelon. The whole idea is to scan packets sent through the internet to other users to see if they contain any "bad" words such as bomb or terrorist. So basically, in theory, this article just sent a flag up at one the the strategically placed black boxes or filters.

The reason for this article is the fact that last night (8-4-02) at about 11:15 CST I came across some of the ways people thought these black boxes came across words or phrases of a threatening nature on the web. I then decided to email myself from one anonymous account to another at about 11:25. The email contained a handful a words and phrases thought to be flagged by the Echelon filters. After re-reading the sent copy of the email I found that I had mis-typed the word 'intelligence'.

I checked the secondary account 1:20 AM ,8-5-02. Still no mail. Went to sleep. Checked sender mail account at 11:30 AM and found an error message and that the mail was undeliverable to the recipient. 11:35, I checked the secondary email account and THE EMAIL WAS THERE. More importantly the word 'intelligence' was now spelled CORRECTLY. So, can't quite call it proof, and maybe someone else was spoofing my mail, but hey, it's a bit curious that that never happened to me until I used a handful of words that the government would most likely find offensive.
