Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Like street_pharm said, opiates, benzos, alcohol, or (we are really pushin it here) MDMA. I mean there is way more shit then this but it really matters why you're nervous. If you actually have anxiety then downers will do the trick, but if you wanna be more "open" then go with some stimulants. But really, this shit is pretty much just common sense.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Smoke meth. :D
But...
Benzos would be the obvious choice.
Alcohol would be the easiest to get.
RCs such as MDPV, Mephedrone, or 4-FMP might do the trick.
Dexedrine/Adderall (at a much higher than recommended dose of course) might help.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Risperidol (SP?) It makes you less influenced by whats happening around you.
I think its bloody expensive if you have to buy it, but would make a great drug to use during poker games as it'd be harder for others to read your body language.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Id recommend Benzos, Phenobarbital (a barbiturate), Heroin or for a less hardcore approach maybe kava kava or Kratom. Stimulants are a big no no if you get anxious easily.

Don't listen to these guys. If you listen to them you will feel like a walking zombie.
What you really want to do is combine 2 hits of LSD with an 1/8th of shrooms

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
If you want to feel less nervous, I can think of few methods that match the effectiveness of drugs. Feeling nervous, or experiencing fear, is an event that triggers a certain state; you're right to look to drugs since they remove you from the state itself.
From personal experience, I can recommend Adderall (dextroamphetamine) and Xanax (alprazolam). A stimulant, Adderall speeds up cognitive function and heightens the concentration of neuotransmitters in your brain, as well as triggers the 'fight or flight' response. This often manifests as increased confidence, willingness to socialize, desire to speak and happiness. It operates differently than Xanax, a benzodiazapene used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. Xanax effectively removes the ability for you to worry about things, invoking a dreamy, confident and care-free state. I would rate both as being highly effective.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Long-term reduction : LSD, ketamine.
Long-term maintenance and reduction : tryptophan, magnesium, soy lecthin.
Short-term crutch : anything that can cause rebound anxiety disorders; benzos or MDMA.
Do not confuse benzos 'n MDMA with tryptophan and ketamine... and vice-versa; LSD will not in fact reduce your social anxiety in a crowded shopping mall for the 8 hours after you take it, it will reduce your lifelong anxiety for the lifetime of hours that occur after you come down.
And much like the last guy who asked - if you're a daily speed fiend, and you're complaining about anxiety/paranoia, cut back... no matter the reason.

Would you consider dextromethorphan (as well as dextrorphan) a suitable inexpensive and available alternative to ketamine? After all, both are NMDA antagonists, with dextrorphan the more potent of the two. I would imagine that increasing CYP2D6 would increase the concentration of dextrorphan and heighten the dissociative experience.

Due to its longer duration, I would consider it ideal...

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Aye, you really needed to even ask this?
Xanaxs, klonopines, pot, alcohol. And most others already mentioned in this thread. Alcohol is the easiest to get I think, next to pot, then xanax's and then k's. K's kinda suck though, after awhile of doing them, all they did was make me wanna sleep or lay around.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
Xanaxs, klonopines, pot, alcohol.
Weed never made me feel less nervous in public, no matter the amount or quality. When you're borderline agoraphobic the last thing you need in a public place is a drug that makes you paranoid.
I'm a former benzo fiend and a fairly experienced drinker and I still believe that low-dosed amphetamines/stimulants have helped my anxiety more than anything. 30-40 mg of Adderall with a 150 mg Bupropion chaser takes the garbled clusterfuck of problems and worries in my head and lets me approach it piece by piece, which is a lot more effective than trying to cope with ten different trains of thought at one time. I also feel more confident in what I say in conversations, which basically eliminates my social anxiety completely. If ADD is actually a real thing, I'm pretty sure I have it.
I don't get that effect from all stimulants, though; caffeine usually makes the mind-racing worse and makes me feel jittery and spastic when taken in even moderate amounts (~200 mg), for example.
OP, it will benefit you greatly if you can break down the key parts of your anxiety and understand what causes it. Generalized anxiety is different from social anxiety, which is different from full-blown panic disorder, and so on and so forth.

Re: Drugs to help me be less nervous.
fuck all this benzos, opiates, bullshit.
Almost exactly a year ago I was diagnosed with mania accompanied by extreme social anxiety.
First I was prescribed valium and seroquel. Seroquel will just kill you faster so avoid that; also it turns you into a zombie.
Anyways, im going to give you the same advice the bltc'ers gave me when I first was prescribed valium. Don't take it. You WILL get addicted. And after a while, the drug is simply useless.
I decided i would take the 10mg valiums as needed anyways. I got addicted without even realizing it. Then my prescription was changed to 90 1mg kpins per month. That's what fucked me over. Now im currently taking 90 1mg xanax per month. It doesn't do a DAMN thing for my mania and social anxiety. I have to take it to just feel like my normal crazy manic self now; and to stop the onslaught of withdrawals. Currently im tapering myself off because I realize how useless benzos really are; for long term use at least.
The drug that helped me the most? It's not recreational. It's not euphoric. It's a beta blocker, and a norepinephrine antagonist. Propranolol. Yes, the blood pressure medicine your grandpa takes to keep his ticker ticking...
My doctor started me on propranolol about 2 months ago when he realized NOTHING he was doing was helping. It's used off label for social anxiety, and man it works well. I used to be scared to ask questions in my chemistry class (chem major), and i could feel the adrenalin pumping through me telling me to run away. My heart would start racing and my nerves would go haywire just by THINKING about interacting with people. Propanolol blocks much of your adrenalin secretion. It's extremely safe, and very useful.
If you actually want to try and make a change in yourself, dont think that your only options are recreational drugs.
Propranolol. Who would have ever thought....

lol
But to all the people who asked I don't have any anxiety or paranioa at all, it's just to make me more open an social....and MDMA seems like on of the best choices to me becuase it makes me do all those wierd dances without giving a shit about what people think.
As for LSD, I never thought of it as a social drug...I've never even takend it with more than five or six people.
