Re: ritalin help
Try locating a local AA support group and talk about it with family. That is of course you really want to quit and stay done with it.
I've done it in the past and here I am still abusing and using :)

Re: ritalin help
If you don't have enough willpower to quit, you might want to look into a drug called selegiline. It's a MAO-B inhibitor, and due to its effect on dopamine has been shown to help people quit use of various substances (including cocaine I believe).
You'd probably be a lot bearable on it than the constant hyperactive/crashing mood swings of ritalin use. Doesn't seem to have much of a withdrawal phase either.
Keep in mind though that you really shouldn't do any ritalin while on this though, as I've heard it potentiates the effect 2-5x.

But it doesn't have anything to do with willpower! He has a disease! It's not like he ASKED to be born with his illness.

Re: ritalin help
Coming off of ritalin is shitty, but just taper down and do half as much as you would usually do during the course of a week and then halve that, etc. Also, get some benzos and take low therapeutic doses during this time. Weed probably won't help unless you really enjoy weed, otherwise it'll make things worse (more confusion, depression, scattered-thoughts, things that come with ritalin withdrawal).
