Buying 'CID for the first time.
Warning: N00b question.
Note: Fuck me, Acolyte (saving y'all the trouble). :p
I've recently tried acid for the first time. Without boring you with the details, a friend gave it to me free of charge, and was awesome. Anywho, I've decided I wish to purchase some. I've found someone who sells it, and for cheap--my question is; short of actually ingesting it, is there any way of determining whether it is indeed acid, or whether it's something else, such as DOB/DOI, or even just a small piece of paper with something drawn on it? Is there a particular odor, appearance, texture/whatever that could be of any indication, or do test-kits exist? Or am I going to have to base it purely off of trust and reputation?
Your help is appreciated.

Re: Buying 'CID for the first time.
Of course test kits exist, and that's the only way short of ingestion (with a knowledge of effects of legitimate LSD) that you will be able to determine its authenticity. No smell, no color, no odor...nothing. Some people report a metallic taste and albeit I've seemed to have experienced that a few times myself with what I know for a fact was true LSD, there were plenty of other times with true LSD where a taste was non-existent.
Knowing the person selling it is obviously a good idea, as it is when buying any drug where you don't know the potency or, at times, the formulation. Drives me nuts to hear/see people who buy E pills and coke and such from people they hardly (or don't) know without any intention to test or clean the shit prior to putting it in their body. But I digress...
Anyways, what is this person's definition of "cheap"?

Re: Buying 'CID for the first time.
Test kits exist which can generally identify the presence of LSD, or at least something like it. Acid in liquid or crystal form tends to fluoresce under a black light, but this doesn't really work for blotters as the concentration is very low and many other things [ink] on the paper can glow as well.
Take it and see how you feel in a couple hours. That's the best you're gonna get without selling your car [house] to buy a GC/MS setup.

Re: Buying 'CID for the first time.
$10 a tab. I've heard other people selling for $15-$25; so for my area it's pretty good. I do know the guy personally, we aren't best friends, but we're kind of "Hey, what's up" type friends, or acquaintances, if you prefer. I've purchased E off the guy before, and my E test kit indicates that they are indeed good, and the reputation is good. But, I'm still a little uneasy putting that much trust into a product I know very little about. Especially because he only sells in '10-packs'.
Is it possible to make an LSD test-kit? Or are they strictly a purchase-only type thing? If so, where could I get one in Australia?
Many thanks. :)
Edit: Read last post after replying. Don't want to sell my house, so that rules that out. :p

Stolen from Stupid Noob's sig. It wont guarantee acid, but it will tell you if youre in the right family of chemicals. Usually (for me) this is good enough for acid.

Re: Buying 'CID for the first time.
I wouldn't worry, DOx's are pretty awesome too..
With only your body and mind to determine what you've got, DOx tend to make people slightly nausea's as they begin to feel it which is usually around the hour mark after ingestion and muscle twinges in the legs are pretty common too.
Acid should smack you into another world by the half hour point and physical problems (besides those in your mind) shouldn't really be an issue.

Are you sure these are tabs as opposed to blotters? Blotter is often sold in strips of ten hits each, which would explain why he only sells "10 packs". If they are tabs, generally, anything else besides microdots and gels should be approached with degree of caution. Gel-tabs are somewhat common, though, and if he's got those they're probably decent.
$10 is right for solid product; $15-$25 seems ludicrous. I mean, if it was damn-near guaranteed I'd be set from a single hit, then I'd probably be able to justify spending $20 for the trip. Usually, though, you'll end up dropping more than a single hit.

Aside from ingestion, only way is with a test kit. Someone already pointed you in the right direction as far as that's concerned.
or whether it's something else, such as DOB/DOI
As far as I know, aside from using several test kits (which destroy the sample by the way), the only way of determining this would to actually ingest it. If it tastes bitter, metallic, leaves any kind of strange sensation, it is not LSD. I'm sure you can put it on long enough to get a taste and take it off before any significant amount of the chemical is absorbed, but I could be wrong.
or even just a small piece of paper with something drawn on it?
If that's the case I hope it's a cool drawing :)
Is there a particular odor
No.
appearance, texture/whatever that could be of any indication
Nope. Any form of LSD can be something else as well.
or do test-kits exist?
See earlier answers.
Or am I going to have to base it purely off of trust and reputation?
That always helps too :)

I think that's pretty commonplace for Australia, but I could be wrong.

I don't know, I don't think it really smacks you and you are tripping super hard right away, I would say it starts easing you into it at 30 minutes and at an hour or so is really when you start to feel it, if nothing happens after an hour and 45 minutes then you got ripped off/it isn't acid.
Kind of also depends if you smoked weed at the come up, for me smoking starts the trigger to start tripping harder on the come up. But like I said, usually it takes a bit longer if you are doing acid by itself.

It does, but so does paper. Another issue with this is that UV light degrades LSD rather quickly.
