Default What distro???
Hi i am hoping you guys could advise me on a distro for my laptop: its a dell latitude Ls H500ST with a 497MHZ intel pentum 3 processor with 256mb of ram and 6GB hard drive???

I was thinking xunbuntu...
Also is there a way to format the hard drive ready for install??? (currentley have xp on it)

You could use Wubi to have a fully functional linux install operating inside Windows. Check out the ubuntu website for more information.

Slackware Linux or Vector (which is a slackware based distro..very small and fast.)

It really depends on how much experience with linux you have. I would suggest debian with xfce though.
