Yoyo I completely agree with you, in fact look at the case that happened in the last month here, the same result.

In principle, if he donates sperm and has agreed with the mother to have nothing to do with the children, then he should be exempt. However the reason these men are being forced to pay is because they do this procedure privately. The courts/judges have admitted that in the case of the British person, he would have been exempt of paying charges if he had donated through a licensed clinic. This distinction should be made publicly aware so more people do not fall into this trap.

Actually the donor (whether male or female) is the biological parent. However in the majority of cases they waive the right of responsibility. In unauthorised or private cases this is done tangibly with 'contracts', but care/responsibility/welfare can be enforced by the courts.

I've heard of the kids growing up trying to find their sperm donor father, but not that many cases of women demanding child support out of them. That's just pathetic.
And how on earth did the woman win the case? The agreement was "informal", but even still.

i think its about $100 a shot. But also, you have to fill out a rather long application/resume (job, age, weight, height, health) and constantly update it, this prevents 18 year olds from having 50,000 offspring. The women who go to the banks read thru the apps until they find a profile who they think would make a decent father... genetically speaking.

I got paid $300, at age 18. It was by a private IVF clinic. Anyone receiving my sperm has to sign a very extensive waiver and they actually destroyed all record of my name etc. They have a sample of blood, medical and I.Q. test results, filed under a number, but that's about it. The idea is to make it very hard for a woman to find the donor to file for child support or otherwise cause problems.

I have blonde hair, blue eyes, an unusually high I.Q. and no genetic disease. Apparently that's pretty much what gets asked for by clients. They didn't have a height requirement (I'm 5'6", though every estimation of my adult height put me at at 6'-6'2"), but they did require a healthy BMI. I was told that a lot of the clients also get the embryos screened pre-implantation (P.G.D. for those familiar) to choose the gender etc. They were paying A LOT more than $300 for my man goo.
