Do you like facial hair? On yourself or other men if you are a guy, and on men, or specifically your significant other if you are female.

Personally, I think I look better with a bit of a beard. Not some huge outcropping on my face, but a relatively tidy beard, minus the mustache and neck hair, as those areas piss me off if they go unshaven.

The main reason I am asking is this: I can find no pattern for what people like/dislike about facial hair. It seems to make no sense whatsoever. How many men have heard a girl fawning over a man with facial hair, then the same girl tells them they despise it?

Most importantly: I love having a beard, it makes me happy overall. My girlfriend hates the beard, and makes me shave it in any way possible. She will go so far as to withhold sex until I shave.

And yet my mother, just 2 hours ago asked me why I shave my beard... according to her I "look good with a beard." and "it suits me".

Should this not be the other way around? What the fuck is going on?

Overall, what is the status of facial hair nowadays? Do you think men look better with or without facial hair?

I'm a guy, and yeah personally I prefer the way I look with some facial hair.

Recently done some major haxx0ring to my beard as I wasn't happy with the stache growth, and now have a chin beard and sideburns. I pull it off quite nicely if I don't say so myself.

I can't manage to grow a beard. Best I can do is a goatee.

My girlfriend always fawns over thick stubble, but I usually don't grow it much longer than that.

Count your blessings, honestly, shaving daily is a huge pain in the ass.

Edit: strangely enough, the beard tends to "round out" my face and make me look a little younger than I already do. Of course, I can pull off mid-high twienties somewhat easily, but lets not get into my actual age. "Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyways."

I personally think that clean shaved doesn't suit me, so I've usually got stubble or really short facial hair. But currently I'm trying to grow something, but it's naturally becoming a fuckin' fine chin strap, the only thing I shave off is the moustache, but I don't think that there's a single person who's ever looked good with one.

If a guy is attractive, he's attractive with or without the facial hair.

The guy I'm vaguely seeing at the moment has a sort of stubbly beard thing going on, but he was hot when he was clean shaven. In fact, when I first saw him he had a fucking immense handlebar moustache, twirled up at the corners and everything. He was still somehow attractive. Though I did think he was gay.

If you are a teenage boy, never grow facial hair just-because-you-can. I think that's probably the only 100% certain rule about facial hair.

I usually have stubble, but no 'tash. I will probably end up with white hair quite early, my dad had white hair like kenny rogers quite young, he sports a short beard and tash, and it looks good with white hair.

I think almost every guy looks better with a full beard and long hair. But I guess most people disagree, considering the majority has shaved heads and faces.

I just keep everything nicely trimmed nothing fancy. Sub-question: the girlfriend says she likes the chest hair, is this normal? Or is she just attracted to me because I am one of few males around here that can actually grown hair in places that require me to look down instead of up?
