My boyfriend lives in the states, illinois to be precise, and is above the age of consent there (and in canada, of course).

I live in Canada, and am legally able to consent here, but am under age to consent in ILL.

So, if he comes to Canada, is everything legal? If I went to the states, as a Canadian, would it be illegal? Personally, I'm a big fan of "its all legal as long as no one tells" but he's kinda worried about it. Understandably imo, one pissed off parent could ruin your life.

If you two are that worried, dont do anything until you are both 18. Then its all good in the hood.

The way it works im sure is that its dependent on where you are at the moment. Being like say doing crack cocaine is legal in your country of origin you can't come here and smoke crack same thing. If he goes there its legal, if you come down there its not. How old do you happen to be because some states have little loopholes. Here in arizona if your 18-19 and still in highschool you can be with someone UP to 2 years younger then you and it would be legal. The legal age of consent here is 18. SO that means if your still in highschool you can kind of bypass the whole age of consnt and fuck a 16 year old.

Actually, I believe that on travel, you're bound by the laws of your country. At least, in America, I believe.

Actually thats false. You don't need the parents to press charges for statutory rape. All it takes is for the cop to want you busted. I did a report on this as my girl was 2 years younger then me and I was 18 and this was one of the topics so figured might as well do it on something that could prove usefull. With statutory rape anyone can turn you in for it doesn't matter whether the girl, the parents or who ever doesn't want to press charges. I mean thats the legal side. Answer : if you're not 18, he gets prosecuted under the US's fucked-up "sex tourism" laws, even if it's legal in both the region in which you live and the state he lives.
