I just want to warn people about how six flags new england ( the one in mass.) treats people. Well here's my story

I was at six flags with 5 of my friends on Monday the 18 of June 2007, yeah less than a week ago, and there were some girls with us who wanted to go on a ride called Houdini. I was being obnocious just for the fun of it, I mean there were no guards or adults around so why not, standing on fences punching fire alarms. Any way so we get inside where they show us a video and I continue being obnocious nobody tries to get me to shut up. Most of them were laughing actually. On to the point. So I got on the ride and sat down, I'd been on this ride before so I knew that the ride didn't actually move, that it was just an illusion of going upside down. In the middle of the ride I touch the safety bar and it flys up, promptly afterwards I stand up and do a little jig. then I sit back down. A minute later all the lights go out and the ride stops and a fat lady comes in screaming "WHO STOOD UP!!!!!" some little bitch I don't know on the otherside of the ride ratted me out. I was escorted out of the ride and had to walk with a security guard. It crossed my mind to run but I didn't think they were going to do much about it so I didn't. So they take me down to the security building and ask me my name and what school I'm from. I give them the information. Eventually someone from my school comes and signs some papers. After a while the security guard comes out with a paper saying "If you are found on any space owned by Six Flags corp. including parking lots and lawns in the next year you will be charged with trespassing and prosecuted withing the full extent of the law." Now is probably a good time to mention that I'm 13 years old in frigin 8th grade. Then I have to sit there for literally 6 hours without food untill the bus came. The end result? A suspension for the rest of the school year and me missing my middle school graduation. All this for standing on a ride that doesn't even move. The moral is don't so much as sneez on the wrong thing or else you'll be more or less fucked.

Or obey the rules, simple enough.

Seriously, don't try to be a "badass" just follow the rules.

I worked at that park for 5 years, since I was 14. eventualy working my way up to supervisor in rides.

Lemme tell you somethin dude, that ride DOES move. It only moves 15 degrees in each direction, but youd be surprised how many people manage to throw up.

anywho theres a reason for rules. Its a multi national billion dollar corporation. People have sued in SFNE over stepping on a paper cup, supposedly tripping and falling.

Yeah there are alot of rules. Some even seem down right stupid, like not sitting when in line, and not jumping. But they need to protect their asses. Plus the fact that they are $3 billion in debt doesnt help either. So you can see why they would try to take every precaution they can to not lose any more money.


As for making a run for it, that would only buy you about 20 minutes of fun. The security is prohibited from chasing someone or restraining someone (unless a danger to others, and even then its complicated) You description would go out in a blink of an eye on the radios, and picture circulated. (youd also be surprised how many hidden cams there are all over the place, in places you least expect.)

If you run you would immidietly be brought up on charges, it was wise not to run.

I had almost forgotten about this. But a ffriend of mine somehow opened the bar on a ride he was on (Adventure Express or something like that at King's Island Cincinatti Ohio), and when he got off he was arrested thoug hhe was never charged. He was told by two different cops that he was being arrested for inciting panic, and the other told him that lifting up the bar on a ride like that was against the law as it endangered everyone else on the roller coaster or something like that. turns out they just let him go after he was good and scared and ready to piss himself after spending the night with hookers and crackheads in county lockup, but who knows whether they actually could hae charged him?

Round here only the person running the ride can open/close it, in the interests of safety and to prevent tools like this from getting hurt.

depends on the type of ride. family rides, like the scrambler, dont have anything preventing anyone from opening the bar.

but on the bigger rides, roller coasters for instance, yes it is illegal to not have some sort of a locking mechanism on the bar.

it sucks ever sense they changed it from riverside and stopped bringing bands in for a weekend...

People dont care if the test was 'valid' as an IQ test. People believe that IQ tests are ALL crap. They are not a good measure of how effective someones mind is, and as you touched on, they have little to do with KNOWLEDGE which in THIS day and age can be just as important as INTELLIGENCE.

Its not that people dont BELIEVE you scored 138 on some test, its just that they dont care, because they know that it doesn't mean anything.

Furthermore, MANY of us were forced to take IQ tests when we were younger, and MANY of us scored very high. I myself scored a 161, 165, and 164.

Why did I only mention it NOW? To illustrate the point, NOBODY cares. Many people who are posting on totse score well on IQ tests, because despite how STUPID and incredibly UNEDUCATED and IGNOGRANT a LOT of totse members are, they might still have the CAPACITY for intelligence and a QUICK mind (even if its not very DEVELOPED, which is basically what IQ tests measure, how 'quick' you are).

You don't need to PROVE your IQ test score, because nobody really cares. It has NOTHING to do with anything in this thread, and definitely nothing to do with totse.

I've done more unethical things in my life than this young person could even imagine, but I'm still encouraging him NOT to, because I know that most of them really were WRONG, and had I the opportunity to choose again, I would choose not to do them.
