Lightbulb Portable Duct Tape?

So, a lot of us could agree that Duct Tape is one of the best inventions of all time. Of course, it's very impractical to carry a roll of duct tape around with you. So, here is one way to make duct tape a LOT more portable...You need:

1 Roll of Duct Tape (if you want pocket sized, get a small roll...not the HUGE roll...)

1 Bowl of water...

(Optional) a Vice

1: Completely Submerge roll of duct tape for 5 mins...this will make the cardboard squishy so you can flatten out the roll...

2: Take roll of duct tape out of water and flatten it out using hands, book, or use the vice to make it completely flat...

3: Hold it in flattened position until the cardboard dries...

You now have a flat "roll" of duct tape!

The tape gets kinda shitty around the edges and makes a nasty slimy mush. I spilled water all over a roll.

Or unroll the roll while rolling it back onto a commonly used object like a Nalgene.

may i suggest putting a wet rag in the middle for the same ammount of time? this will reduce majority of the ductape being exposed to the water and only target the cardboard.

Wow, that is the best idea I've heard today.
I camp a lot, and my duck tape roll always gets fucked on canoe trips.

I used to just cut a piece of plastic from something like a coke bottle, and roll a number of meters of duct tape over the piece of plastic.

Flat, pocket-size duct tape. Who could ask for anything more?

Also, OP, I would probably try to cut the cardboard out instead of soaking it. Rip it out untill you get to the tape, then take a layer of tape off and flatten it, the tape should stick to itself keeping it relatively flat.
