Hey, my friend is 18 years old, E-3 and is about to get married. Unfortunately he's having trouble getting approved for a Personal Loan for $10,000. (He has no credit history or anything, and a 1995 Chevy Camaro worth only about $5000.) He claims he's good with money, but has no credit history to back it up.

This is the single stupidest thing i've read today. Why the hell would you take on 10k in debt to get married at 18, thus starting your life out in the hole?

First of all, you shouldnt get married until you've already got a nice little financial buffer on life. Hell, i've got 20 grand in my savings account, and I still dont feel thats enough.

Secondly, getting married at 18 is just plain dumb. Especially if she's any younger. I dont care how grown up or responsible you think you are, you're going to regret it. At 18 years old, you are not an adult. You're going to be a very different person in 4 years. Just like you're a very different person then you were at 14.
