Basically I have what I think is a good idea to ask my girl to our senior prom, but I'd really like to have some input. A lot of girls I've talked to say it's pretty cute, but Totse's opinion always matters(somewhat). Keep in mind that we've only been dating about a month, and she doesn't go to my school. In the fall we're both going our separate ways(me to University of Kansas her to University of Minnesota), so I want to make it memorable.

Local elections are happening in a few weeks, so those little signs that people put on their lawns are everywhere. My idea is to get one made that says "Bilotti<--(my last name) for Prom 07" and put it on her lawn. The problem is I still haven't figured out how she's supposed to say yes to me(over the phone sucks ass for this kind of thing).

Suggestions for how to either make this better, or how to pull it off would be greatly appreciated.

Try something like "Will you take me to the prom"? :-/

usually around here it's customary for the guy to ask the girl in a crazy way even if they are dating. The simple question would never work really, a lot more is expected.

Well I would it and then just stand out there and either hold up the sign or sit next to it in a lawn chair and then wait for her to wake up and come outside before school or something. You also might want to let her parents know so they down wonder why theres some kid sitting out on their lawn.

no offense, but i think it sounds like poop as well. i'm sure you can think of something better than that. i don't have anything right now, but i'll try to think of something.

actually, this is corny and probably overdone, but how about sending her on a scavenger hunt thingy when she gets home? obviously you'd have to talk to her parents and have them ok it, but you could put a note on the front door that says to go somewhere where she'll pick up a fake corsage and a note telling her to go somewhere else where there's a picture of a prom dress or something, and have them eventually lead to the prom tickets and have a note with them leading to you. you would then be standing there with some roses or a teddy bear or something and another note attached to them saying 'will you go to prom with me?'

When you eventually chase her down and she's panting and screaming for her life you can take the mask off, lick her face, and ask her in song.

Yours sounds kind of crappy, no offense. At least you're putting thought and effort into it though, that's really good.

Do you have a car? It would kick ass if one morning before school you picked her up and took her out for breakfast somewhere and got a friend/friends to paint (with washable paint) "will you go to prom with me" on the car while you were inside. A couple roses on the passenger seat wouldn't hurt either.

Things don't work like this where I'm from, guys just ASK the girls, but I understand that in some communities, you kind of HAVE to ask in an outrageous way, because it's just not acceptable to do anything else.

i also come from a place where you just ask the person to prom...but if you have to do something original and interesting, then i think ur idea is slightly corny or just...i dunno...something. i think it could be better thought out.

take her out for chinese and somehow put a little note in the fortune cookie that says "go to prom with me?" you might be able to get a stiff piece of paper in through the crack in the cookie and tell the waiter before hand what you are up to and give him the cookie...i think that a reasonable person would be happy to be in on such a sweet plan :)
