So I found a cellphone, it looks like it was abandoned so I hope the owner doesn't want it back. Anyways, I know something about circuitry and stuff like that and I was wondering what could I do with it, like some magnetic radio interferer to block radio signals, any ideas/advices?

put it this way.. what can e do with modern but now unusable CDMA phones in australia? can't use them anymore cause they have phased out the service.. so i have a $700 phone i can't use :\

I always wanted to find a cell phne with a camera so I could take it apart and make a spy camera type thing. The cameras on phones are small! But wrong fourm, this belongs on DIY

CDMA is still used in the USA... I just bought a CDMA (Sprint PCS system, but prepaid service) phone for $20.

keep it charged and in your car, you can still call 911 with it. keep it turned off untill you use it so the batteries with stay good.

It depends what kind it is. If it's a RAZR/SLVR/ROKR/PEBL/RIZR/KRZR, keep it and mod it. I have both a SLVR and 2 RAZRs, and they are both modded to the extreme.

if you can get a data cable for it there is a custom firmware circulating that will allow it to pick up all the text messages running though the tower its connected to. however sending things with it is a little harder....
