Network (in)Security Interesting hacks and cracks. Info on firewalls, TCP/IP, encryption, networks, and security. The ins and outs of the phone system, caller services, how things work, what's illegal and what's not, cellular phones, beepers, telephony legislation, the PUC, ISDN, taps, who's listening, and switches. Talking about phones, hacking systems, technical advice, and such is completely LEGAL in the United States -- it's covered by the First Amendment. What's illegal is conspiracy to commit a crime. So if you say something like "Meet me at 2am so we can crack a can" or "I changed my cell phone's number myself" you are criminally liable. Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net.

Default It's starting to bug me.. so here's the answer

I've noticed that alot of past posts have been exacly the same. "how do you get around school web site blocker" etc... well here is the answer in plane english.

1. Open your web browser

2. In the URL type 'www.proxyweb.net'

3. Once in this website you are free to surf the web however you please.

There you go. No need to be an Xtreme HAXOR to do that hey..

So if anyone askes how to do this again, chances are i will sigh and put my head in my hands and cry...

God, if you are going to make a post on 1 thing people post alot about, I think you should spend a little longer and make a list of common threads, with different answers. And incase you don't know alot of schools blacklist those proxy sites with domain names usually. Either set one up youself or google for a bunch of cgi proxies that link to IPs and try those.

I got lucky on my school computer, I downloaded a key logger then the librarian typed in the password so I could "work on a project on hacking" then bada-bing, bada-boom, there is the password. The filter was Bess.

Not that I've ever asked how to get past the blocks at my school, but I'd just like to point out that my school, and probably most others block anonymous proxies, so that was a pretty shitty idea.
