Yeah, I'm the same way, I think .... my dad's name is Michael but everyone calls him Mike. I could maybe date a Michael, but not a Mike.

I actually have an uncle whose wife has the same name as my grandma - Sonya, another uncommon name.

haha actually what i meant is that the name "bob" is so silly i can't imagine anyone my age having it. it was kind of a joke. i actually don't care. it's not like i can't tell the difference between my dad and some other guy named bob.

What's in a name?

I probably wouldn't pursue a girl with the same name as my mother, but I've never been in that position.

I've never met a girl my age with my mother's name. I guess it was unfashionable at the time, which is somewhat surprising to me.

I dated a girl with a variation on a step-sibling's name. There was nothing strange about it to me, but maybe it was weird for her.

I've been seriously into a girl with the same name as my father before. It was all good.

I'm 100% sure to never find a girl with my dad's name, and about 95% sure to never date a girl with my mom's name, I've met about 3 people with her name, but they're all close to her age/in their 30's, so I'm more or less fine.

i'd date 2/3 people with my sisters names, but i dont think id find anyone with ones name, and i doubt anyone has my moms name

My dads name isn't really THAT common. And most people with my mothers name spell it differently.

I also have a sister and no brothers, so there's no issue there.

I don't really know any Patricia's in my circle. I know a Lisa (sister) but since they look nothing alike at all what's in a name? Bit silly to stop just because of someone's name.

Wouldn't bother me the slightest. Actually, it hasn't bothered me the slightest and I never thought about it until now.

I call my mom 'mom' not her birth name, so no, it wouldn't make a difference.

My ex is named Bob, lol.

My dad's name is Ron, and I don't know anyone my age who has that name.

And like someone said, I call my dad "dad" not "Ron" anyway.

i have before. my father's name is 'Daniel', which is really common around here.

i may have a crush on someone who has his name now. the weirdness for me is dating a guy with the same name as the other guy.

i don't usually call my father by his first name, so it's no big deal. i call one of the guys Dan though, to separate the two in my head.

no, i wouldn't be able to date a chick named mike. that'd be too weird. lol. i don't think it would be a real problem.

My first girlfriend had the same name as my mother... although my girlfriend went by her middle name, so it sort of worked out.
