What's murder?

I live in Seattle and our murder rate is pretty low, but damn we are 2.62 times the national average on car theft. Every day a car gets stolen I swear.

There was 1 murder last year in this area, that I know of.

no murders that i know of but i do know somebody has been run over sunbaking on there drive way

I think Edmonton has around 40-50 murders a year, mostly all gang-related

Thats sad that Phoenix has become a city with a high crime rate. 20 years ago I bet they didnt have more then 20 and most of them were domestic.

You guys need to calculate the ratio. Its not how many murders happens as much as what the ratio is.

Small cities like East Palo Alto california had 1 per 1000 people murdered. It was the Nations killing capital for some 10 years (i saw this on tv). LA metro (not the entire basin of 20 million) has like 1.5 million population and has like 500 murders a year. That ratio is far lower then East Palo Alto.

So figure out how many people live in your city and figure the percentage. It's more like 1 in 10,000, which is still pretty high. i think the national average is 1 in 50 thousand. And if your city has more domestic murders it isnt as bad as Murder on strangers. Not saying that someone killing a family member isnt bad but at least their is motive over stalking someone for their money.

East Palo Alto isn't even that dangerous, its just because only like 10 people live there.
