Default Who wants to meet up with me at a music festival?

Serious question.

The meeting spot should be easy enough, and it doesn't matter hwere you live. But we'd be meeting at an airport in Hamburg, Germany.

The other problem is the festival is Wacken - the largest open air metal festival in the world (www.wacken.com).

So who wants to come with me, it's not until August!

Wacken gets about 60 bands in total. Those were the confirmed ones. And you have to be joking, Cradle of Filth? Guns and Roses?

And how the hell can you have Alice In Chains?

That is just retarded. Come to Wacken with me instead, the best metal bands, and the best beer in the world. All in one place.

About 79 euros for an all event ticket package. Thingy, something of that variety. And your airfare.

I agree with everything you just said; I hate metal more than rap.

But, meh, some people seem to like it.

I went last year it was an amazing experience. ACCEPT as headliners rocked my socks, Machine Men in the Headbangers tent, discovering "new" (as in new to me) bands such as Morgana Lefay and Turisas and Candlemass, seeing Sonata Arctica for the second time in roughly a week, and the people there were so friendly it was awesome!

Only major dissapointment were Nightwish, playing literally the new album and maybe one or two from the others. They just didn't seem into it.

Everyone should experience Wacken if they can. I would go again this year, but my band may be playing on a festival which is on the same weekend. :s

Metal has a different auditory aesthetic. And I doubt you've heard anything aside from the mainstream hard rock shit. Piss off, eh?

Don't speak unless you know something about what you're criticizing? Why are all of my statements questions? Am I suddenly French?

Anyway, most of underground metal holds true to an ideology of seperation from/destruction of modern society. Naturally, when approaching an acidic society, one becomes a little "pissed", maybe even misanthropic. Most of these musicians are the men and women who have a habit of seeing through man's primitive nature.

Maybe metal should move into a shitty five riff structure and sing about loving everyone equally (even those who dont deserve life, let alone love). At least then it would reach its own end, no?

Seventies music hardly proposed a break from society, it attempted to push it in a direction in which it was already heading: eglitarianism and false ideas of individual equality. 70's rock sounds very light and relaxed, and because underground metal holds a view which is diametrically opposed, it is natural that it should develop in the opposite direction, away from a common root.

We took revolution and revolutionized it.
