Basically, look at it. Do you see a human face in there? Why should we? We try to see ourselves in everything.


See that smiley face? Why should it represent a human face? All it is is the barest hint of human features.

Just a circle, two dots, and a curved line.

Try to see something else in there.
It's instant. We can only see ourselves in the smiley.

Arrogant? Yeah.

So why are we so great? There's a lot of us. We're all here, but doing what? What about the human face is so comforting?

Face recognition is programmed into our brains. It's not arrogance, this trait likely evolved over mullions of years.. before modern humans existed.

What purpose, over a million years ago, would we have to see ourselves in things?

I think face recognition emerged so babies could tell if they were seeing a tree or their mother.

I think this has to do with a phenomenon called The Superiority Complex. Of course, sufferings such as this one are far, far beneath me.

We psychologically look for faces and most importantly eyes from the moment we come out of the womb. As social creatures we use this eye contact to form attachments, especially as babies. Babies can barely see shit, but they know that the shadows that look pretty much like are the face of it's mother. It's not arrogance, it's basic pattern recognition.

Facial recognition was a vital survival instinct, allowing our ancestors to differentiate between friend and foe.

Yeah, our race is pretty arrogant.

Actually no it's not it may be the end of the human race, not the world.
