put your hand by your hip, then keeping it at that level, drive it forward with your whole body, aim for their upper abdomen, you should hit with your arm about half extended.
do this right, and it will make grown men cry.

If your not planning on taking them out with one hit, stand side on, weaker arm towards them for jabbing, stronger arm away from them for big hits. And dont tuck your thumb inside you fist, thats just retarded
