Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
What is the oddest thing you brought through an airport control, and actually got to keep? For me, it must be a jar of Czech pickles, that I had bought for my dad (something about pumkins and pickles, don't bother asking me to explain, way too complicated). They had to put it under X-ray twice, just to make sure it wasn't a bomb or something. So, what are your amazing airport stories?

I re-created a scene from spinal tap*. Me and friends thought it was funny. Got a section 30 though...
* = put a cucumber wrapped in tin foil down my pants and went through the metal detectors.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
Last june I flew to New Orleans for a band thing and had to bring my Drum stuf with me. I deciden to bring it as carry on since it's fragile. So we were flying out of Loagan. I had a set of quad mallets in my bag that had aluminum shafts. So we get to security and they scan my bag like 6 times then the guard calls over another one and says "Does that [pionting] look like a baton to you" and I said "no its just drumsticks" and the guard says "ok". They let me through with out even looking in my bag to make sure. For all they knew it could have been a baton. Security my ass
Edit: the above poster reminded me of another experiance from a trip to Washingtom DC
In Washington DC at the museum of Natural History the only security they have is a metal detector. But yet at the food courst they have X-Ray machines. The best part was when this guy went through the metal detector with a stroller with no baby but it was covered with a blanket and after setting the alarm off the guard just waved him through with out lookng under the blanket. wtf that would have been a great place to hude guns
btw all of these stories are post 9/11

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
Complete soldier gear. Including: West, rifle, helmet, clips ect ect...
I was going with another guy in the same platoon for training at a different regiement. But the army didn't want to fly down a hole plane just for us and it would take to long with train.
Anyway, they booked us on a regular plane, gave us a note that said: "they are allowed ect ect" and send us away. Well after alot of airport security men detained us at the airport and called our regiment, higher staff ect ect... We could continue.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
Rain maker full of extasy tabs instead of little stoneds to make the rain noise. i just wrapt it up in a bit of plastic and bubble wrap.
the drug dogs sniffed me out, i had an alibi of smokin pot so i told the Customs officers that the dogs would have smelt that. ( i had smoked it hard core just before the flight so i stunk of it) they searched me, my gear and x-rayed everything. I got through.
mind you, this was in new zealand.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
We had two bags of grass, seventyfive pellets of mescaline, five sheets of highpowered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. All this had been rounded up the night before, in a frenzy of highspeed driving all over Los Angeles Countyfrom Topanga to Watts, we picked up everything we could get our hands on. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

I had a box of lubricated trojan condoms, and the dogs flipped out for some reason. but after a narrowly missed stripsearch, 3 hours of waiting for them to run a fbi check on my family, and 2 missed flights, I still got them onto the plane. ive been thinking about bringing dog biscuits onto a plane, I wonder what the dogs would do THEN.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
Security is so lame. If you actually intend to get knives and such through then you can. Did you know that a large pack of gum shows up completely black on the x-rays? I had a pack in my bag, and the had to search for it then were like "Oh, it's just a pack of gum." If you really wanted to, you could have one that had explosives in it. Or take a cheap laptop, and put whatever you want in place of the battery, just have it wrapped in foil or something. Batteries show up black on the x-ray, so they wouldn't know. Airport security is a joke.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
quote: Originally posted by Parallax: My Glock 7 from Germany. It's made out of ceramics and costs more than what you make in a month.
LIAR From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLOCK_7 The GLOCK 7 is a fictional ceramic gun, purportedly made by the Austrian small-arms manufacturer GLOCK, that was mentioned by John McClane, Bruce Willis' character in the 1990 movie Die Hard 2: Die Harder. In the movie, McClane says: That punk pulled a GLOCK 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines, and it costs more than you make here in a month. Neither GLOCK nor any other firearms manufacturer has ever made a ceramic gun that does not show up on airport X-ray scanners. Although GLOCKS are often called "plastic guns" because of their polymer frames, their slides and barrels are made of steel. Over 80% of the mass of a GLOCK is steel, and the polymer frame is visible to X-ray machines. GLOCK is also an Austrian company, not German and has never sold a pistol manufactured in Germany. GLOCK pistols, though considered high-quality, are not significantly more expensive than most other semiautomatic pistols in their respective frame sizes and calibers. The urban legend, if not originating with Die Hard 2, possibly had its origin in the panic that ensued after GLOCK first began using polymer frames, as many believed that the so-called "plastic" guns would not set off a metal detector. Another similar (but fictional) weapon that can bypass X-ray scanners appeared in In the Line of Fire where the assassin assembles a polymer pistol after eluding Secret Service guards.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
Believe it or not I was flying from O'Hare National Airport to Poland for vacation in the summer with my family. We brought our camera on as carry on luggage. They put it under the x-ray and what not and just gave it back. The trip goes well and when we get to Poland and unpack at my family's place I looked into the side pocket of the camera bag. There was a fucking swiss army knife in there! And this was all like 2 years after 9/11. I was so happy they never found it. Let's just say we didn't fly back with.
Disclaimer: To any CIA or FBI agents reading this, I am not a terrorist nor do I condone of any terrorist actions. The knife was there on accident. Please do not come and kill me.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
The last 2 times I've flown, they've searched my purse after xraying it. It was because of this little mirror I have, I guess it looks suspicious when it's xrayed. But the funny thing is, both times my purse was searched, I also had a large, sharp chunk of glass and amphetamines (prescription, but not in the bottle) but they missed them somehow...

A bit more than a half of ounce of Haze under my sweaty ass balls stashed in a pair of boxer briefs I was wearing...this knowledge was kept from my fiance who would of went Rambo on me for pulling such a Cheech and Chong move post 9/11.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
I have my lighter with me every time I go through the airport (2x a week), it goes through the x-ray, and I'm selected for additional screening 90% of the time.
Either they don't actually care about cigarette lighters, or they genuinely miss the things consistantly and count on people to just drop them in the bucket on the way through.
A guy I used to work with took a trip to New Jersey (pre 9/11) and when he arrived on the other end found his handgun in the bottom of his carry on. This thing had gone through the x-ray machine and they missed it. He had a salesman who drove there carry it back to the office for him.

DFW is a bitch without it. It takes hours to get anywhere without the train.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
I've got a pocket knife in my wallet that goes everywhere with me. Also in my wallet, the last time I flew, were some Black Cat fireworks labels. No doubt covered in 'residue', thankfully I was never searched.

Re: Oddest thing you brought through an airport control?
3 skateboard decks, a set of metal trucks, ball bearings, a set of 4 wheels, and the hardware to mount the trucks. Went through the xray machine, nothing was said. Continued on. This was post 9/11. The trucks could be used as a weapon, since, when attached to a deck, could be swung at a high velocity, and could seriously injure someone. Retards.

I think you're the retard You could rip the arm rest off a chair, swing it at 'high velocity' and hit someone, possibly knocking them out cold. Or you could get a newspaper and strangle them to death. OR you could be trained in any martial art, and beat the fuck out them, thus injuring them. RETARD! LOLLMAOOMFUCKINGG
