Picking Lockers....
Well at my school, we each have lockers... As all High Schools do. Everylocker has a combination, and in the middle, a little keyhole. Looks very shitty and easy to pick. The Principal has one key around her neck that will open any locker, with that one key..... I was thinking... I could try and steal the key (Impossible) or find a way to make a pick that would open every locker.. If I did that, which doesnt't seem too hard... I could make hundreds of dollars...... Get phones, iPods, books, drugs, cigarettes, EVERYTHING!........... I will try and get pics, but what do you guys think will work to pick these locks? They are masterlocks, and the key is fairly small, so it can't be too hard....
Ideas?

Re: Picking Lockers....
If you can get one of the locks you can take the pins out and use a dremmel tool and cut a blank key to line them up. I did this and I could get most of them open, untill some fuck told the administration... Bastard...

Yep, Those. I've tried to pick them, but they're so small not even a paperclip will fit in there. I'll try using a super-small alan wrench tomorrow.

Re: Picking Lockers....
Wot? Looks like those things would take a standard M1 blank. Unless I'm way off base.
Probably a four pin tumbler lock, probably pretty easily raked. Nice loose tolerances on a lot of those Master cylinders.

Re: Picking Lockers....
It means...
The lock should be fairly easy to pick because it's a piece of shit meant to keep honest people honest. But you have to have a clue what you're doing.
M1 blanks are what normal Master padlocks take. That means that if you can get your hands on the key, copying it won't be a big deal at all. Even if all you can obtain are measurements or a rubbing you could probably work something out.
Chances are all the locks in those things are keyed alike. If you get one cracked you can have them all cracked.
Preferably, you pick one and get the locker open so you can get to the mounting hardware, steal the lock, and then use its pins to make yourself a key, since the blanks are available from any harware store.

Yep, those are it my friend.. Ill steal one tomorrow and take pics and then you can explain how to get the pins and make a key for it. They all take the same, one, key. [This message has been edited by kwstag (edited 03-20-2006).]

for those who do not understand i beleave whtat fate is trying to say here is to pretty much decode the lock each pin has it's own length to which it reaches it's shear line each lenght reps a number if you get a decoder you can rep a key but you would be better off on spending 20 bucks on a pick set and learn to just rake here are some of my tools to which i just ook today for another fourm http://68.149.251.172/Locks/

Re: Picking Lockers....
the problem that can happen from trying to rake them open is that at some schools, the locks are old and shitty, and rusty, so raking is really hard. My school sucks.

Re: Picking Lockers....
Eh you can't pick any lock with a paperclip because you need actual lock picks. And Fate is right you should be able to rake them easily enough...but this is all old info.
On another note, check this out: The reason all the masterlocks in your school can be opened by that one master key is because they were special ordered in bulk from the company. One of the easiest ways to get the master key would be to just swipe some stationary from your school, type up a good looking letter as if you're the principal and say you're really embarrassed and such but you misplaced the key, please send another one. Just change the address on the stationary to your home address or better yet a PO box.
Masterlock's website should have info. on bulk orders, etc., check it out. This saves you the trouble of replicating a key and is more convenient then picking every lock. All you have to do is write a letter and wait for the mail.
Good luck,
-j

Re: Picking Lockers....
Master got wise to that scam.
At the hardware store we used to call up Master to get lost combos and keys for people who owned the locks (as in, brought us the lock not attached to anything, but needed a way to open it). While they used to just hand out measurements or combos to anybody official sounding with the lock's serial, now they ask for faxed ID and a notarized statement that you are the actual owner of the lock.
It turned into such a pain in the ass for us that we resorted to learning how to crack the combo locks and writing down the combo for people because it was easier and faster.
