I've got Zappa, why would I need Vai? And as for Hendrix, he hasnt really influenced my playing at all (not to say I dont steal riffs from him, but that's a different thing all together), if he has had any influence on me it would be the influence he had on Eddie Hazel, who's one of my favorite guitarist. |

Re: whos your favorite guitar player?
Jake Cinninger. Hands down my favorite and best guitar player. He's one of the guitarists from Umphrey's Mcgee, and probably up there as one of the most technically skilled contemporary players.
I also don't believe Trey Anastasio wasn't mentioned. Nothin like a guitar god turned coke addicted burnout. He's definatly one of the best of the best. I think people who know his shit well will unanimously agree that, in his prime, he was cream of the crop. He could hang with any guitarist in any genre.

You say being unique does not make you great? Hmm lets think about that for a minute here... Michael Jordan=Unique=Great Lebron James=Unique=Great Reggie Bush=Unique=Great The list could go on and on but I'm to lazy to type anymore. But being unique is what makes your great. I can't believe you actually think that. And yes, I have heard tons of music over the years. I guess you could say that Gilmour was the first one I heard that played like that and now no one compares? I guess. Also, don't worry about it. |
