Sludge is basically doom metal mixed with hardcore. Slow, heavy, and thick. Its fucking great.

Northstar is one of my favorite pop/punk type bands. They're very melodic, and very catchy. I think you'd like them. Get their album Pollyanna though, its way better than their first one. And no one has heard of them so you can be all punk.

I disagree. I suggest he get any album by Fant�mas album (Preferably Delerium Cordia) and listen to it at midnight in a dark room with headphones and his eyes closed.

Recommend me some good bands. I like REALLY heavy stuff, It's gotta be brutal or really heavy and dark.

That, or it has to be Nordic like Celtic Frost.
