My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
Here is an essay I've written on the 9/11 conspiracy. Please tell me what you guys think, any suggestions?
September 11, 2001 was one of the most tragic days in all of American history. The events that took place on that blissful Tuesday morning had opened my eyes to a new perspective of the United States, and the corruption that had breaded right under our noses. It is my strong belief that the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings number 1, 2, and 7 were planned demolitions devised and carried out by President Bush and the Bush Administration.
Skeptics will question how our government could have gotten away with such a heinous act, and why they committed the crime. However, the idea of a government attacking its own country for one reason or another is by all means not new. In 1988 the notorious communist dictator Saddam Hussein launched deadly chemical weapons against his own Middle-Eastern people, the Kurds. Literary references of the same concept can be taken from the novel 1984, written by George Orwell. The book depicts life in a futuristic society in which the government controls all aspects of its citizens lives, including where they work, and the prices of the goods they can buy. In order to keep the citizens under their thumb and stay in support of the governments war decisions, the military bombs its own cities and points the finger at another country. Thus, the citizens become enraged at the attacker and support their government in a war with the innocent country. The scenario in 1984 can be related to the attacks of September 11th by replacing the futuristic government with our own, and changing bombs to 747 passenger airliners. Upon attacking his homeland, Bush created a feeling of nationalism that swept the country like a wild fire. With Iraq as the scapegoat, the United States citizens followed and supported Bush with his war.
How were the World Trade Centers taken down? It was a controlled demolition style implosion, caused by strategically placed explosives. The idea that an airplane alone could have caused the 110 story steel structures to collapse is beyond me, especially because of the fact that when construction of the towers were completed in 1977, they were specifically designed to withstand a collision from a passenger airliner. Some people claim that it was the scorching heat from the jet fuel that weakened the inner steel core, causing the support beams to become malleable enough that they could no longer support the weight of the building above. Lets examine the facts: the jet fuel used in the airliners burns at a temperature between 800 degrees and 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The steel beams used in the construction of the towers can still hold about 50% of their initial strength when exposed to a temperature of 1100 degrees Fahrenheit. This reasoning may have been somewhat feasible if the towers had been damaged at the base, but both towers were struck at the very top. (The North Tower between floors 94 and 98, and the South Tower between floors 78 and 84). Nevertheless neither tower was struck at the base, leaving the weakened steel core to support an average of only 21% of the entire structures.
New Yorks Columbia University contains a seismograph which had picked up readings of the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings. Several seismic readings were picked up seconds before the actual collapse of all three buildings, indicating that explosives had gone off right before each tower had fallen. Further more, Mark Loizeaux, president of Controlled Demolition Inc. reported, Incredibly hot areas of molten steel were found at the bottom of elevator shafts of the main towers, down seven [basement] levels. Loizeaux also reported, In the basement of the collapsed towers, where the 47 central support columns connected with the bedrock, hot spots of literally molten steel were discovered more than a month after the collapse. Such persistent and intense residual heat, 70 feet below the surface, in an oxygen starved environment, could explain how these crucial structural supports failed. If the airliners were the only weapons used in the destruction of the towers, why was there such destruction in the basement levels of the World Trade Centers 1, 2 and 7? The only logical explanation is that bombs had been used to weaken the support beams, causing the collapse of all 3 buildings.
I would like to believe that America, home of liberty and everything that stands for it, could be trusted. However, it is apparent to me now that in such a hectic world, a person can not even trust the one organization that prides it self in the protection of its citizens, the United States of America government.

Re: My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
Its alright. Though there are a few problems.
1.) What are you sources? 2.) Hussein wasnt a communist. 3.) The fireproofing was knocked off by the planes.
I cant say any more than that because I do not believe in the 9/11 conspiracy.
Edit-Did you forget about the 1993 bombings of the twin towers? Al-qaeda put truck bombs in the basement, they exploded, nothing happened. If your thesis is correct, then they [the towers] should have been brought in 1993, not 2001.

Re: My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
You need to split up your paragraphs more. For example, Saddam Hussein and Literary examples could be split up.
Also you should refrain from using first person personal pronouns like "Me" in essays.
And yeah, cited sources would be nice.
And when the towers were built they were built to withstand an impact from a plane smaller than the ones used on 9-11.
And it really wouldnt hurt to tone down the rhetoric.
Good luck.

Re: My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
You should be fine as long as your teacher is used to this kind of work and is a joke as you said. Next time if you get a more serious teacher try to start broad in the intro paragraph, narrow your way down to the thesis at the end of the first paragraph, and then begin your body paras. Each body paragraph should have a good topic sentence, you seem to have some of it just cut down the questions that'll really throw off your grade, then details that back that up, and then a conclusion that sums up what you said in that paragraph. A conclusion is similar except instead of one paragraph its basically the entire paper.

Re: My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
Yeah it isn't supposed to be a formal "Intro-3 body paragraphs-conclusion" type essay. Just a short essay that is supposed to pursaude or show an example or some shit. Thanks for that gramatical error and all the other input.

Re: My 9/11 Conspiracy school essay
Have you turned this in yet? I'm wondering if you have thought about how some of your fellow students and teachers might respond to to this. I know this is suppost to be a country where free speech was allowed, but here lately that seems to be up for question.
An example of this would be a Colorado teacher who compared President Bush's State of the Union address to speeches made by Adolf Hitler. Has been recieving deaths threats over his lecture.
Here's a link to the article. http://www .progressi veu.org/14 1903-teach er-compare s-bush-to- hitler-in- class-fami ly-receives-12-death-threats
I just thought I'd warn you about the can of worms you could be openning here for yourself and your family.

Yeah, do you how much of an idiot you would be to do a report on a conspiracy theory?
BTW, Hussein was like a nazi. He's sunni, but he was a Baathist; like an arab nationalist and a socialist.

The biggest issue here is that you provided no evidence that the President or the government were actually involved. You asserted it in the beggining of your paper and left it completely unproven at the end. If I failed to even attempt to prove my thesis or assertion in a paper of mine, my teachers would fail me you should really add another paragraph linking Bush to the attack. Assuming you can't because no one else has really been able to, try to at least link the government to it by talking about the war games or such.

actually according to a man named Phil Schneider, who was a geologist/demolitions expert who worked for the goverment, he was sent in at the first bombing of the twin towers, and he said there was no way that the bombs they told us the "terrorists" used were the bombs that went off in the towers. He said it looked more like a small nuclear bomb if I remember correctly. But he got rubbed out a long time ago [This message has been edited by Sharko (edited 03-13-2006).]

A nuclear bomb would leave radioactive fall all over that's easily detectable, furthermore nuclear devices are not used in demolition so a "dem export" or geologist would not really be knowledgeable on that kind of scenario. Post a link if you can

Sounds like that Da Vinci Code lawsuit. I knew everything he mentioned and never saw Loose Change. I knew all of this a long time ago, no even to be a snob and act informed, it's true. Now, I'd have to say that was well written. Nice flow, delivered the facts fast enough to be interesting and didn't run on, I think you got the timing dead-on. As for some additions, I'd recommend you look up the Northwoods Documents, as an example that this has been suggested before and might break the "The US would never consider this!" arguement. http://tinyurl.com/7op8k This isn't even a crazy conspiracy, be sure to note that these are OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS. UNCLASSIFIED. Print it, and hand in the most important parts while highlighting the key lines, preferebly circled in red to have an ironic play off that "official" feel.

For just an essay? I think you're over-reacting. Think of all the college students who parade around chanting this, they just get ignored. I was thinking of doing this as a school newspaper article, and I was actually wondering what would happen to me or my little brother who is a freshman.

Thanks for the replies, both good and bad. And yes I did get alot but not all of my info from Loose Change 2nd edition, which I thought was a pretty good video. My teacher already read a rough draft and was interested, suprised, but interested. He's pretty open minded about stuff like this. Handing it in tomarrow, hope it goes well.

Hmm? You think I'm over-reacting but your wondering at the same time what would happen to you and your brother if you were to write something along these same lines? Actually it not over-reacting when teachers are receiving death threats and even "Bob bar" (the guy who led the House impeachment of President Bill Clinton), was booed at a CPAC meeting by his fellow republicans for stating, " whether America, will remain a nation subject to, and governed by, the rule of law or the whim of men." This little tidbit can be found here, http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2006/2/19/160920.shtml So do be careful in what you do choose to write, for it can come back to bite you when you least expect it.
