Why does everyone (well nearly everyone) outside of Britain think England and Britain are the same thing? Britain is a Union (the UNITED kingdom) of 4 countries England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Not totally true. Yes, the greatest portion of the fighting had taken place by the time of the American entry into the war. However, when Russia got out of the war, the German Armies on the Eastern Front were moved to the Western Front. Had the American Expeditionary Force not been there to help hold the line, it is my opinion that the Germans would have created a military situation which would have been more akin a stalemate versus the defeat it suffered. A stalemate would have drastically altered history, not to mention leave a certain corporal in anonimity.

Total error of fact. A few days after Pearl Harbor was attacked (not invaded..the Japanese invaded the Aluetian Islands later), Germany declared war on the US. This can hardly be called 'coming in at the end'. By the way, you failed to mention Lend-Lease, US convey's, et al which all occured prior to US entry into the war (WWII).
