Find the cheapest stuff you can, and try it. If it's palatable, great. If not, then try the next cheapest.

Re: Eating cheap
Hotels.
Find a busy hotel/conferance center and chances are you've got a good source of food. Go to business meetings, birthdays, BBQs all for free. I've had many good meals at the expense of a certain local hotel.

Re: Eating cheap
Yes, exactly, those were the best god dam cookies I've ever had. And the next day we had shrimp and some sort of soup. On All Hallows Eve we got some sort of a custerd.
Good food!

Re: Eating cheap
If the hotel thing doesn't work out remember to eat foods that take longer to digest (starches) so you won't have to eat another meal so fast.

Re: Eating cheap
buy a twenty pound bag of wheat at a farming supply store for $15; make sure it is untreated, otherwise it is inedible. So get a Twenty pound bag of untreated wheat take two glass jars put 4 ounces of wheat in a jar cover it in water with just enough to cover the wheat, no more. leave the jar by a window sill and in one day it should germinate and sprout. Drain the excess water and drink it. Then blend the germinated seeds and drink that. All and all a healthy breakfast meeting your nutritional needs for about $.05, cheap enough for you?

Re: Eating cheap
You should also cover the jars with mesh while there at the sill and you have two jars because you give them two days to germinate before blending them.

Re: Eating cheap
Worship the potato? The idea seemed silly to me. But then I thought, what else is more deserving of worship? It's simple, it comes from the earth, and it can kill you if you disobey it.

Re: Eating cheap
Spicy foods are supposedly more satisfying, leaving you feeling fuller. So, eat something spicy and starchy, very slowly. Then drink alot of water or something. I think I remember my parents saying "Don't fill up on drinks!" or some shit. Or was that bread???? So, if it was bread, try filling up on bread

Re: Eating cheap
Ramen noodles fortified with velveeta (allowed to melt in) is a wonderful way to remain interested and with money.
Pickles are filling (also helping for those trying to lose weight because you burn the calories chewing).
Grab a huge brick of velveeta, some bread.. make lots of grilled cheese sandwhiches.
There's some help.
------------------ So there.

Re: Eating cheap
I've had to eat cheap pretty much all my life. As a kid we lived mostly off welfare and WIC food stamps. Ramen was the first thing to go, then we ate peanut butter sandwiches untill all the peanut butter was gone. Then grilled cheese sandwiches until all the bread was gone. Then the Furina and then the rest of the cheese.
I remember my brother and sister and I found a half eaten Kit Kat behind the sofa once and thought it was dinner. lol. Crazy kids.
When I moved out on my own I actually had more money. I ate mostly at taquerias in the neighbourhood. A super burrito was $4.00 and that was dinner. Sometimes I get a drink to go with it. For lunch I'd get a poor boy sandwich: $1.00 and an apple: .50c and for breakfast I usually had a cup of coffee and a doughnut because our roommate delivered pastries in the middle of the night and our house always had left over pastries, which was convenient.
Burritos are cheap, poor boy sandwiches, a lot of fruit, rice with chick bouillion.
Don't bother with frozen foods. If you can get together fifteen bucks, get a whole chicken and whatever vegitables you can afford. Stuff the chicken with vegitable and chop the rest up and put it all around the chicken and put it in the oven until the skin is crispy. Don't forget to rub it down with olive oil (cheap). If you get a big chicken, you can eat chicken for almost a week without buying ANYTHING.
Save the carcass, too, because you can boil it with the remaining vegitables, chicken shreds, and fat (ALWAYS SAVE THE FAT).
Other cheap foods are those Jiffy corn bread mixes. They're 65c. Buy four and two cans of chilly. Pour two mixed mixes into a pan, then the two cans of chilly, and two more mixed mixes on top. Dinner for a week out of about $3.00
Cheers, Lost
