I talked to santa and he said you've been "naughty" this year and he also said... "you're shit out of luck."

Sorry man. I'm just the messenger.

You keep on forgetting something. YOU CAN"T HAVE A HANDGUN. Nobody here is going to sell you a gun or tell you where to get one.

If you want one, you're going to have to move. Santa's a bitch, but poop's right.

Question - does the law specifically say an 18-year-old cannot own a handgun, or merely that licensed dealers are forbidden to sell them to people under 21? Basically, are private sales out of the picture?

(hand)gun laws differ from state to state.

I think it says that an 18 year old can't buy a handgun.

It doesn't matter because hired hand is in england, which says that handguns are evil.

A federally licensed dealer has to abide by the 18/21 restrictions. Regardless of state law.

However for example in the state of minnesota, you can legally possess a handgun at the age of eighteen. Therefore yes, you can obtain a pistol thru a private sale.

Also you cannot purchase "pistol" ammo from a dealer lol.

Although there are plenty of rifles that shoot nine millimeter, forty five, etc.

So basically...

You say, "Give me a box of XXX, It's for a rifle."

Dealer says, "How many boxes would you like?"

You hand your american express - you gain award points whenever you use your card! Even if you are purchasing ammunition =)

Next Question: When the gun show comes through town next spring, that doesn't count as "licensed dealers," does it? Is it likely that I would find a massive pile of "private sellers?"

There will probably be some private sellers and traders (they often don't have a table...just walk around trying to their guns), but usually the bulk of the gun sales at a gun show are from licensed gun dealers.
