That desert eagle is a Short Barrel Rifle, some class 2 manufacture just has too much time and money on his hands. That barrel is only 14 inches.

People are fascinated with the desert eagle becuase it is most likeley the most powerfull semi-automatic pistol in existence [presuming we are talking about the .50AE version] i can't cliam to have fired a real one, but i've had a damn good look at a 1:1 scale replica and it wouldn't be as hard to conceal as you might think.

A .45 super beats the .50 AE pretty easily. So it's far from being the most powerful semi auto. With a .45 super you can switch back to shooting the far more available .45 acp at any time. Plus there's more variety in what kind of gun shoots the .45 super than there is the .50 ae.

The 10mm might also beat it on power, I'm not sure.
The desert eagle .50 is only popular because it looks kewl. If it wasn't in so many movies, then it wouldn't have half the fans that it has now.
