i got this info off glockmesiter.com

whats the differenc between the compensated one to the normal g17, and why is it more exspenive

it has a compensator (im sure you knew that) and it costs more because its more material to manufacture and people will pay more. unless you are using it as a target pistol i dont see a great deal of use for a compensator.

syphon is right, comps arn't great for self defence weapons. They direct alot of fire and hot gas up in to your line of sight, ruining your night vision if you shoot at night. My friend had a comped glock and and he said it was a raunchy bitch to fire. He said alot of times the shooter would get hit in the face by shit coming out of the ports.

I remember shooting my ported springfield v10. Forty five with some really slow burning powder. You'd get a nice V shaped fireball (almost lol) out the top.

I never did really like comped or ported guns for any use, range, self defense, etc.

I espically don't see the reason of comp'ing a nine millimeter.

Yeah, that's not a terribly hard round to handle to begin with, as long as you've got some weapon behind it to support the blast.
