Re: smoke bomb
Btw, Joe. Backyard Ballistics will help you with questions like these if you use the search button and don't post bullshit, The pharmacy in our extra foods has saltpeter.

Re: smoke bomb
I've probably said this a thousand times before, but here it is anyway: I buy potassium nitrate in 25 pound bags. The bags cost me 24 dollars each, normally, from my local agricultural supplier. Usually they have to order the stuff, but it's not a problem and it shows up within a week. Look (or ask) for "Peter's Professional Water Soluble Fertilizer", NPK designation 13-0-44. The stuff is flat out KNO3, and it says as much on the bag. 95 to 100 percent pure.

Re: smoke bomb
I've never seen it at Home Depot. I get mine from an agricultural supplier that is far from "specialty" - It's a regular medium sized supplier for gardening as well as light farming equipment. The sell seeds, feed, fertilizer, basic tools, and some machine parts as well. They also deal in landscaping stuff like tools and artificial pond parts. Agway is a very similar store (and also a national chain), and any tractor supply sort of place should be able to help you out as well.
