Re: Hand Guns in the UK
Are shotguns and rifles allowed for hunting back there?
Or do you have to resort to bow and arrows?

Re: Hand Guns in the UK
There is no where in the UK that you can purchase a handgun legally. In actual fact, there is a higher penalty ( 7 years jail) for carrying a handgun illegally than a rifle ( 5 years ) because the law automatically considers that you are going equiped to carry out an armed offence.
Shotguns are very easy to get a licence for, just look at my last post. For hunting purposes, there are minimum loads for certian animals. for example, stag and large deer.
It's not TOO hard to purchase a handgun illegally, at around 200, but most of these are really unsafe bored out replica's or re-activated weapons. Also, you can't buy the ammo, so you have to hire it off the guy you buy the weapon from. Generally 15 pound a round, then 50 per round if it's fired.
Why would you need a hand gun anyway?

Re: Hand Guns in the UK
Self defense hunting recreation fascination with mechanical things paper weight investments(for collectors guns) to look cool to have something to shoot bullets out of to support the employees of gun factories to have a need for a holster to clean regularly to fill a gun safe because Paco the alcoholic gangster with a temper down the street has one cause I can I don't trust 911 to help me when I need it
Of course I could substitute something more politically correct for all of the above uses, but I'm a free citizen, so I don't have to.
People in cars kill many more innocent people than guns do, so worry about cars not my gun.
More kids die from drowning every year than from guns, worry about swimming lessons.
More kids die every year from smoke inhalation and fire than guns, worry about fire safety.
More people die because of mistakes made by doctors every year than by guns, worry about medical training and ethics.

It's a sad fact that the injuries and fatalities caused by intoxicated individuals behind the wheel cast a giant shadow over firearm related injuries and deaths. [This message has been edited by I Love Poop (edited 12-07-2002).]

AH no i think you missunderstood me there. I meant why would anyone who has a gun want one-meaning there are hundreds of different reasons. I was not saying why would anyone want a gun meaning they are pointless and there are better things to buy with your money.

Re: Hand Guns in the UK
Your best bet if you want to get hold of a fully working shooter, ie one that ain't a re-activted-de-act or a modified replica is to go to an area that's prone to gun crime. Ie the fucked up area's containing the degenerates of society. If you live in the Burrough and ain't all that keen about asking a 6-foot black boi, wiv gold drippin of him I'd suggest going to Brick Lane, in the Bethnal Green area or Tower Hamlets. There's a lot of bengali's down there achin to offload some guns and you don't get no hag off them, they jus interested in making muny. But don't be daft and front any cash or you'll jus get ripped off. AND DEFINITELY DON'T GO IF YOU LOOK LIKE A PUSTACLAT! I'd suggest buying a deactivated shooter like a Colt 1911A or a Colt .45 from a company such as Battle Orders Ltd or Springtown Supplies. They usually cost around 250-400 but get one that was de-activated pre 1996 (ideally 1994) as these are easier to re-activate.
