Paintball to shotgun
Whats the easiest way to convert the assembly of a paintball gun into a shotgun? and would i need welding gear or would soldering on a firing pin be sufficient? i know i'd have to switch the chamber and most of the body, but it wouldn't be too hard to do that. thanks in advance.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
You got to be shitting me.
You can't get a shotgun, but mommy will let you have a paintball gun instead.
You could probably do it, but it would'nt hold up more than a shot or 2. Just wait a few years and buy a shotgun when you get old enough.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
you mean like a firearm? or something that shoots a lot of paintballs at once? i don't think that it would be possible to change your average paintball gun into a shotgun. i think you might even be better off starting from scratch

Re: Paintball to shotgun
First off, your barrel would be the wrong size. a .410 shell would fit in a paintball barrel, but it would rattle.
Second, while your barrel could probably take the pressure from the shot it probably couldn't take the load - The pellets bouncing around in there will surely mangle your aluminum barrel after two or three shots.
While the barrel may survive, it is very unlikely that the connecton to and body of the gun would.
My recommendation? Using steel pipe, build your shotgun from scratch. There are designs all over the web, and I can send you a quick one if you truly need it. Take the halves of the paintball gun body apart, carve them out as needed, and build the steel shotgun mechanism into the paintball body.
It's still a bad idea, though.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
Truely a bad idea, just wait till you turn eighteen and then go buy yourself a nice shotgun and rifle. Don't get yourself busted, get a criminal record, then fuck up your ability to possess a firearm throughout your adult life.
Why butcher a paintball gun? Paintball is extremely fun. I haven't played in a long time and I miss it.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
While we are un the subject of dumb ideas, i have thought about making a mini shot gun in a lip stick container, is this possible?

Re: Paintball to shotgun
Probably, but it's not going to be fun firing it by hand. You probably would be limited to a .410 or 20 GA.
This would be interesting to experiment with too. Item # HV005 on this site http://www.firequest.com/.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
although different you may want to research "bangsticks". they are sticks with a shotgun shell inside and whenever you hit something with enough force the shell goes off and bam whatever you hit now has the contents of the shell in it. i have seen divers take them down when the go swimming with sharks...just in case. i have also seen mcguyver shoot down a helicopter with these but thats a different story.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
So you want to hurt people with your paint ball gun? I will not repeat the judicious objections of the above people. I do have a cool way to make your paintball gun into a formitable weapon.
1. Buy a blowgun. 2. Remove the shit from it so it is just a tube and shorten it to the length of your barrel. 3. take some thread and make a cross with it accross one end of the blow gun and tape it in place. This will be the breach end. 4. use electrical tape and wrap the blowgun untill it is .68 inches in diameter in 2 places along the length blow gun. Be sure to leave 2 or 3 inches untaped on each end of the blow gun. That is the caliber of your paint ball gun incase you didn't know. 5. Insert the blow gun into the barrel of your paint gun making sure the breach ends are on the same side. 6. Get some acrilic and fill up the space in between the outside of the blowgun and the inside of the barrel. Let it harden. 7. Now get those heavy blow gun darts, the short thick ones that look like nails and use those only. The thin ones are too light and do not fly right.
now you have fairly formitable weapon that looks like a harmless paintball gun. If you get a spare barrel you will still be able to use the marker for it's intended purpose. With some shortening and taping to increase diameter you can also use your new weapon to launch arrows.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
I like the bangstick idea sounds solid...but what i want to know is would it be possible to do the same thing although w/ the shell in a steel rod or something like that extending out of a glove? would be easy to conceal and deliver the shot from point blank...and you could definently control exactly where it would go

Re: Paintball to shotgun
You could set up some sort of wrist strap arrangement to hold the thing to your arm. Make it stick out about three inches with your arm extended and you could take someone down with a punch...

Walmart has them on the shells unlocked, or you could pick up some used sells and refill them, but that pushing for a kid.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
If you wanted a shotgun that people would think is a paintball gun, I would suggest disguising a shotgun as one not converting a paintball gun into a shotgun, it is too dangerous and difficult.

Re: Paintball to shotgun
Saw off a single barrel shortgun and put a pistol grip, foregrip, empty CO2 tank, hopper, and hose on it. Deck it out with some Brass Eagle decals or something. Problem solved.

Or you could not do stupid things like that and just get a real shotgun.
