I am in the infantry, and since I have been in I have only met a hand full of people who know anything about weapons and most of them knew what they now know before they joined.

Infact I have met very few people who scored over 85 on their ASVAB.

I can't wait to go. I can' wait to go thorugh USMC boot camp, I still dunno if I'm going to make it or not. I'll be memorable.

You're entitled to your opinion on the matter, of course. If push comes to shove and they land on our shores I'll be right there on the front lines with you.

I tend to refrain from becoming a pawn of my government, however. Defending my country is one thing. Making the world safe for democracy by bombing the entire middle east flat is another entirely.

I was thinking about it because I really love to shoot and I am in pretty good shape and like to stay in shape. But then I thought what if I dont end up liking it. I would be stuck there for four years. Fuck that! I have a friend that is in the army reserves and went to boot camp and every thing and liked it but now about half I year later he regrets ever enrolling.

Military operations in urban terrain instructor(urban warfare)
Rifle and Pistol coach
HRST master(rapelling and helo shit, hard to explain)

I had fun until they started to get politically correct. Then it stopped being fun. Once you get promoted a few times then you become a baby sitter, but overall it was a good experience. The GI Bill is pretty nice too.

I do respect the individuals that dedicate their life to serve their country. Who make it through boot camp (hell) till the very end. Those who fight and die, those who come home to serve another day.

Look at the statistics of the gulf war, our first strike. We suffered minimal losses. One story about a squad of US tanks (i think it was approximate 8 tanks) vs 40 some iraq vehicles. We wiped them all out, not a scratch on our side.

First I would like to say that I hold no grudge toward America or its people.

This however does not make me blind to the fact that America [this is a broad and rather unfair term] does often act as an overbearing big brother.

This behaviour can often make others feel as if America considers the rest of the world to uninportant and only existing to serve YOU. This cause anger and resentment, if America stopped acting like this hostility would decrease and hopefully help the world to be a better place.

I mean not to patronise, only to open minds.
