Special forces training, created in mid 1940's , was the first combination art, even before JKD... very effective and unorthodox

Bobthegreat - are you saying that the Special Forces are the first to teach both striking and grappling together? What about hapkido, jujitsu, even ninjitsu? Were they not created until after the 1940's?

Not to argue Spiffy, but JKD is a martial art with philosophy as part of the art. The philosophy of JKD were the concepts of fighting - the mentality, shit like that. However, JKD does have a few specific stances, as well as specified punching, kicking, and defensive techniques.
