Default Decolored Iodine?

I found some iodide tincture that has been decolored. It's clear and forms white iodine crystals. I would assume it's usable. Will it affect the synthesis in any way?

I don't have the bottle handy, but to the best of my knowledge it said 45% denatured alcohol, potassium & magnesium iodine (or iodides) in purified water. The front label said "Iodides Tincture". Somewhere on the bottle it said "Decolored Iodine" When I opened it, between the inside of the lid and the threaded part of the bottle there were cleat to white crystals.

Also in Pseudo extraction methods posted by TheFryGuy, I put an excerpt and a link relating to removing PEG.

Iodide salts (like you have) do not contain free iodine and are useless for the most talked about (ugh) synth of the century. You can however oxidize the iodide salt and obtain pure iodine which can be used .

By oxidizing do you mean to just let it sit exposed to the air?
