Re: anhydrous solvents?
Ether is nice if you can get/afford it, cause it evaporates at a low temp, mind you it is very dangerous as it forms peroxides and it accumulates in an area and explodes.
Colemans is cheap but it contains additives so use VM&P naptha.
Toluene is also decent and mid priced but it has the highest boiling point.
They will all work as a np solvent, just fine. If you are extracting pills(most likely since that seems to be the popular thing to do these days ugh) you need to look at all sorts of other variables like what is in them.

Re: anhydrous solvents?
most chemicals that I have looked at dont tell you what is actually in it just tells you may contain this or that.

what about those hexanes in starting fluid we were talking about tryp? would that be good in extraction w/ the ether? quote: Originally posted by tryptamine:...use VM&P naptha.
i have a couple liters of this. besides ethoxyethane, is this a good choice? what are its drawbacks? i noticed it leaves a nasty grease... it might of been something else though. edit: grammer. im a moron. [This message has been edited by Sivvy (edited 12-15-2002).]
