Sodium(Na) and Water(H2O) combined create quite the exothermic reaction. How much energy is released per MOL(dont know the spelling/it is a certain amount of the substance in question)or any other interesting stuff about this combination would be useful.

oh and btw some kid brought some elemental sodium to school and it reacted w/ the moisture on his skin causing very serious burns imagine sitting next to the kid when it happened

sodium explodes, I know a couple of people who used to put it on bread and feed it to seagulls and they exploded in midair

try making nitrogen triiodide.very simple to manufacture.A very sensitive explosive but lacks the violence of high explosives.you will need iodine crystals and ammonia,filter paper and funnel.react the powered iodine in ammonia for 5 minutes.filter through a wet paper.handle only when wet.kept glassware wet. when it dries the touch of afeather will cause and explosion.remember handle only when wet spread small amounts on say your floor make sure no one is in bare feet and when Nitrogen tri iodide becomes dry presure causes explosion.handle only when wet.powdered iodine.

don't you mean ammonia triiodine?

It is correctly called nitrogen tri iodide. Try making nitrogen tri chloride. Much cheaper and more interesting in my opinion.
