extracting puesdo from cough syrup
i need help please, cant obtain ordinary puesdo from tablets wihtout creating a hassle, cough syrup however is easily available with pusedo (but contains guaiphenesin). is their an extracting process that makes this possible.
thanks for any light any one may be able to shed on the situation.

It probably isn't worth your while, especially since most cough syrups don't contain much pseudo at all. My suggetion would be to boil out the alcohol, dilute with some water, then basify and extract freebase. Definitly proceed with vacuum or steam distillation. The case with steam distillation, it may take several exractions/distillations (as in extracting freebase from distillate, re-distilling, etc) before you get it totally clean. I know I enforce those techniques a lot on freebases as such, but it really is necessary to get it really clean. Esp since most cough syrups also contain DXM, and probably some type of antihistamine which will be freed and extracted into the non-polar as well.
