How would I turn the amphetamines in adderal into methamphetamine

Add a formyl group to the nitrogen either by reacting the amphetamine freebase with formic acid, or formaldehyde. Then reduce the n-formyl-amphet with an amalgum. The formyl groups reduce to methyl groups, giving you n-methylated product. If formic acid is used, then it has to be first reduced in the amalgum to formaldehyde before it can add.

CH2O2---(Al/Hg)--->CH2O
CH2O + amphetamine----->n-formyl-amphetamine
N-formyl-amphetamine---(Al/Hg)--->methamphetamine

Considering yields and extraction losses you are better off keeping them in the form you already have them in. No kidding!!

Okay adderal is a 50 50 mix of both isomers of amphet. that's just the way it is made. Optical conformation of something has nothing to do with the way it'll react in pretty much any synthesis reaction you or I could think up. So the answer is yes.
