what would be the process of making Methamphetamine from Amphetamine (Dexedrine)?

The only way I can think of off the top of my head would be to reflux the freebase with formic acid to formylate the loose amine group then reduce with Lithium Aluminum Hydride or another hydride.

In my opinion it is a waste of good hydride.

There are ways of turning that amine into a ketone and then re aminating with a alkyl amine(methylamine) but then you have racemic meth, same activity as dexadrine, poop!!

Save yourself the trouble and just have fun with the dex. (it is fun I know)

You can use an aluminum amalgum to reduce that formyl group. It has been documented. Search Rhodium or the Hive, you'll find it.
