a few weeeks ago did a 37g sudo cook via hypo..distilled 17g off ,PH 6 ..no dramas, ran out of time to finish so i sealed flask and went back 10 days later to distill the remains, all looked well...PH a steady 6 and upon evaporation i got salt..yuk...but why??? i did nothing different pls help

You did nothing different but let it sit for 10 days. Why the long period?

So you distilled 17 g of freebase off then left the flask for ten days? Well it sounds like a poor yield that's all. I couldn't see the rest degrading if you flooded the rxn mixture enough. Bassify and extract the salt with toluene, it might recover a bit that was left in there.

pulled 17g ...then had to run...sealed it off and came back later(10 days) to distill the rest...17g plus 14g equals 31g except it was 14g of salt...can you over caustic..usually i do 200ml d/n and 50g of naoh..thanks

reason for the long period was safety..if your not relaxed where you are then you shouldnt be there, concentration and safety go together, back to my problem,,,i liken meth oil to motor oil..invincible..what do we do with old sump oil..not easy to get rid of..oil is oil..in my book..so once you have made it you need to f... up bad to lose it?? but this salt problem seems pretty common where i,m from..
