Well Im just wondering what people view as the best Psuedo Ephedrine extraction method from OTC pills. Would it be a cold extraction with denatured alchol or a heated extraction like "The Cure" or sumthing else all together? Just wondering.

ephedra plant cold extraction. simple shit. get you PURE stuff. not just pseudo either- real ephedrine so you got the mixture of the two to get a potent final product. no binders to get rid of. and you can easily filter the plant material away. i know a few places to buy loads of ephedra that wont ask what the fuck you want it for.

Well obviously the 1st thing here is what are you starting with..
If you've got the choice between Ephedra tincture or ephedrine pills, and pseudo-ephedrine pills.. the obvious answer is to go with the proper ephedrine (or ephedra tincture)

That said, I'll assume you're going to use sudafed (just because there's a few extra steps)

essentially, (and there's plenty of info all over the place on this one) you need to remove the red coating from the sudafed. To do this, wash them with acetone, and allow them to dry.

Next you need to use DISTILLED water to dissolve the pseudo and filter it, then evaporate it.

Finally dissolve the pseudo in methanol (or denatured if that's all you can get) and filter, then evaporate.

This should leave you with pseudo ONLY.

Anyhow, more detailed info is elsewhere.. so I haven't really explained much

Thnx to all yes I know better base stock would be better but assuming I am using OTC psuedo pills I was wondering sumthing exactly like your post Gamer I already know many different extraction methods was just wondering what people viewed as the best one sorry if I didnt make that clear. Its because I saw so many different methods such as just using denatured alchol and also putting it in a freezer or putting crushed washed pills into the microwave with lye already added or sumshit like that. So wash distilled water extraction evap then another extraction and evap with methanol or some other solvent sounds good thnx.

just from personal, i would do the methanol extracts first. do about 3 of them to make sure you got all the goods out. then decant and filter the solution a few times with vacuum filtration. evap. now mix in with D-H2O and stick in the freezer for about 45 min. now put back in the vac filter and do repeat filtering until clear. Now evap again.

this is your best and easiest bet, unless you live in Oz. thats a whole different story..

Yah if I lived there Id have to make a distillery outa my toothbrush a tooth I knocked outa some guys head and a ciggaret pack and suck on a tube to create the vacume right? Thnx for the info.
