Volkswagen Golf 230 Horsepower
I've forgotten exactly what it's called, but Volkswagen recently made a Golf that's supposedly going into production. it's got the W8 in it, and goes like all hell. and yes, it's got 230 some-odd horsepower. does anyone know if they're gonna bring it out in north america?
another question: does anyone know when the Bugatti Veyron becomes available in canada? I can't wait to see that one!

Re: Volkswagen Golf 230 Horsepower
i dont know about a golf, but i know that they are releasing a Passat W8 with 275 bhp at 6000 rmp, and peak torque is supposed to be around 275 lb.
im not sure when it will be coming out...i think its already out for $40 000?

lol I am surprised at your ignorance. I'm talking about a Brand new golf, based on the GTI. As far as I know, it isn't turbo charged. It simply uses the W8, and since they make a VR6 vers. of the Golf anyways, it wouldn't be too hard to fit the engine. let me explain these engines: they are very narrow angle, and the VR6 engine is smaller than the 4 cyl. found in the Honda S2000. the W8 is about 1/2 times larger(does that make sense?) than the VR6. and no, they aren't "6 feet long, 3 feet long". The following paragraph is from www.vwvortex.com in their First Drive review of the Golf R32 which can be found right there on the front page of the website. Hopefully this will clear up some of the misconceptions about this badass car. 3.2l 24v VR6 and in this application is rated at 240hp and 236 lb-ft. of torque. Power is transferred through VW's new MQ350 six-speed transmission and 4motion four wheel drive system. The 3.2l has a variety of new pieces and improvements over the older 2.8l VR6. Bore and stroke were increased from 81.0 and 90.3 mm in the 2.8l to 84.0 and 95.9 mm in the new 3.2l with a compression ratio of 11.3:1. The 3.2l also incorporates dual overhead cam shafts with continuous intake and exhaust adjustment of 52 degrees and 22 degrees respectively. The entire intake system was redesigned to optimize flow geometry of the intake manifold and cylinder head with larger flow cross-sections. Engineers also increased the diameter of the intake valves and improved the shape of the valve seat inserts. Expect to see the 3.2l VR6 utilized in the Touareg, Phaeton (Europe only), Microbus, next generation Passat and next generation Golf and Jetta. The 3.2l VR6 will also likely see duty in the Audi TT and next generation Audi A3.

Re: Volkswagen Golf 230 Horsepower
yeah I went back to the web site and found out that it's a heavily modified VR6. well, it'll still go, and a W8 WILL fit.
