no, it would be way too big. it wouldn't fit, nor would it be able to compete with other go karts. try a motorbike engine. it would technically be feasible, but it would be too unwieldly to race. yeah, you would have to have some good welding skills.

Re: go kart questions
a v-4 is a freakin street cycle engine. and yeah it would fit. because it is small. you would need to know how to weld, and you would have to design your own frame and roll bar.you would have to know how long you want your axles, and how long you want the frame. then you would have to measure your target angine, and figure out how you are going to have it stay in the back. then depending on how old your engine is, you need to see how it is turning to wheels and hook that up. and of course you gotta steer and unless u wanna bounce everywhere form some kind of suspension but i dont wanna type nymore peace

Re: go kart questions
I recommend you watch Junkyard Wars. They seem to have an affinity for making karts with motorcycle engines.

Re: go kart questions
In Australia there are quite a few companies that actually sell plans for go carts.
They have engineered them and give u all the specs and details on how to construct...blue prints...the plans may cost u $50
but then u need to get ur materials...and be able to weld it together.
If u r not mechanically minded/skilled. find a friend/mechanic to help you
look up some plans on google.

Re: go kart questions
Pyro, do you mean a 4 cyl. from an actual car, like a civic or a vw? it would work, but it would be huge and overweight.
