Re: Dirtbike
Try draining out all of the gas(not just adding new gas) and cleaning the carb. You might have to rebuild the carb(s) since the seals can dry out and rot after sitting.

Re: Dirtbike
quite possibly you could have gotten water in the exhaust somehow.. it happens more frequently than ppeople would think. Check it out

Re: Dirtbike
It seems to me that any water in the exhaust, probably from condensation, would get blown out the first time you tried to start the engine.

Re: Dirtbike
that's what you would think, but I have seen it happen quite often. You should take the muffler and header off, and take a look at them. and when you get your bike running again, i suggest putting a cork in the muffler so this doesnt happen again, its just a pain in the ass

Re: Dirtbike
I just got another thought, check the plug. Two-strokes can be a pain in the ass if dont run the power band frequently. just another thouight, clean the plug and if that doesnt work try getin a new one, happens alot

Re: Dirtbike
i got an 89 cr125r. first off new gas. check the air filter. new plug. then try it out. i do this every year. but i run my bike all year. and you might want to change the gearbox oil. use 30w car oil.
