Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
Ok, everybody. Tell me right now how you stand on assault weapons for home defense. Personally I'm all for citizens being allowed to own an AR-15, G-3, or SKS, etc to take out someone threatening their life, liberty, and/or pursuit of hapiness... Late

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
Man you dont know what your talking about, this would totaly change things, imagine police officers with those guns, "Get out of the car its an order or else I shoot",heh, imagine how easy it would be for someone to do a hold up, for a simple punk doing a hold up in a little store with that type of gun would be dangerous and fuckn stupid, if you look at who does it.
SWAT teams will be called in cause some dude made a holdup in the liquor store.
And these weapon are to dangerous, they can cause more damage around you then a simple gun.
Man some punk get into your house, you start shooting like crazy, the dude managed to get out, but you killed the people that were outside by shootimng them thru the window without even knowing.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
i say yea. most "assault" rifles are far to expensive for the scumbag to afford. I personally would choose a mossberg 500 or similar. But, any gun can be deadly the title "assault rifle" doesn't make it any more dangerous. it's just some term politicians slapped on there to make it sound sinister.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
No man thats not why Im sayng that, its easier to kill with this weapon because of how they fire, its really easier to kill everybody by mistake, I believe.
Nothing about politicians or anything, I just think so, if its a more dangerous and devastating weapon, wich it is right? It is also more dangerous for thjose who are on your side.
Thats what I believe, but Im not sayng not to have any, I dont give a fuck about this subject, the gouvernement is one day going to take all your weapons away anyways so they can take control and we have nothing do defend ourselves.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
mack...
imagine police officers with those guns
Police officers do commonly carry those guns, they are slowly replacing the old remmington tweleve gauage shotgun common in all cruisers. Now-a-days it's not uncommon at all for a officer to have a colt M4. quote: a simple punk doing a hold up in a little store with that type of gun would be dangerous and fuckn stupid
Just because some "punk" has access to that weapon doesn't mean he's going to be proficent with it. And it's doubtful considering the price tag on them are usualy break their budget. quote: And these weapon are to dangerous, they can cause more damage around you then a simple gun.
What? Any gun in the hands of a criminal who is predispositioned to break the law is dangerous. For shit sakes man, home depot is a one stop shopping experiance for all your bomb making needs. quote: Man some punk get into your house, you start shooting like crazy, the dude managed to get out, but you killed the people that were outside by shootimng them thru the window without even knowing.
What? Not everyone with a gun thinks like you do. You're obviously not mature enough to own a firearm. So please save your comments and questions for another time. quote: its really easier to kill everybody by mistake
Wrong. quote: the gouvernement is one day going to take all your weapons away
Wrong. State gun laws across the united states have superceeded federal laws (government) and in the past the state has been more strict when it comes to gun control. There is already enough gun control legislation. Hopefully now that the republicans have control we'll slowly start seeing a change.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
No dickhead not a simple gun, but assault rifles yes. And if it doesnt take anything for assault rifles, then your right.
And everybody can leanr how to use a gun, but not everybody knows, and there are many proofs and videos, if I could find one I would show it to you, have you ever seen the vid when the black guy tries to shot another black dude close to a car, and misses his eight shots, the other was just ducking.
Well probably there are many vids like these, but if thats knowing how to use a gun, oh well, maybe your right.

Then stop wasting our time with your bullshit. You're not even putting together any construction questions. quote: thats just how I believe most of the people will do it
Randomly send bullets flying throughout their home? And risk their family? You've got to be kidding. If you knew your ballastics the AR15 (.223 or 5.56NATO) does not overpenatrate and is actually a superior weapon when it comes to urban or home defense scenarios. Although you can pick up a lot of SS109 (steel penatrator) for times when you do desire extra penatration. quote: cause a lot of people buy guns and dont even know how to use them
No, most gun newbies buy Jennings J-22 (.22 caliber pistols) and high point .380's not assault riffles. It's a difference of starting out with a $50.00 investment or a $800.00 dollar investment. Mack go to www.im-gay-and-guns-scare-me.com you'll fit right in there.

Anyone seasoned to firearms, espically self defense shooting would know better than that. But for arguement sakes lets say you decide to light up your house... .223 or 5.56NATO isn't going to over penatrate like i stated above. The odds of sending stray shots downrange in a urban setting (suburbia) and hitting a innocent person are slim to none. Either the would be intruder is going flee or wait till you run out of ammo and finish the job he or she started. I just feel sorry for whoever has to redecorate and clean up the mess. We could go on with many "what if" scenarios here and go absoultely no where in this discussion. Bottom line - Should people be able to possess a assult rifle? Yes - just like people should be able to possess fertilizer, ammonia and oil. Do assault rifles require additional training? No - takedown of a AR15 is simple. No - with adaquate range time someone can get aquianted with the weapon and be proficient. Must thugs don't have the cash to throw down on the cost of range time and ammunition. Instead they use the common spray and pray technique and commonly their firearm is stolden or purchased illegitatamately. Firearms and recreational shooting generally gets expensive. I'm sorry your country doesn't trust it's civilians with firearms.

Yea...but for a shotgun. In some of the row houses I've seen, you can kill someone a couple houses over when you miss because of the penetrating power of the projectiles of the assault weapons.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
My god, Mack just because you dont know how to fire a rifle doesnt mean anyone else doesnt, in some cases its natural (i take to firing rifles, like a duck to water, but thats just me ) and in some cases its not If you are unsure about how well u can fire a firearm nick one from a friend that u know has one and take it to a desolate place away from prying cops all it takes to fire a weapon is hold rifle in midsection with the stock at your shoulder, take aim and squeeze trigger, or in your case and i hope people agree with me hold rifle in midsection (where the trigger is) hold barrel to mouth and squeeze trigger. :P I think that assault rifles in defence of the home should be allowed completely and then if needed, get some wire and hopefully explosives of some kind and place booby traps around your house.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...

Negative, most law enforcement agencies have replaced the shotgun, or subgun, with a AR15 variant because of it's lack of over penatration in a urban enviroment. Standard M185 5.56NATO ball ammo penatrates considerably less than a 9MM FMJ. That particular ammo (traveling 3,300+fps from muzzle) is designed to penatrate a little and fragment considerably (bullet also tends to yaw at a angle). Thereby creating a larger permanate and temporary wound channel. Espically if you take into considering the bullet diameter of .223 In comparison, 7.62X39MM (common AK round) would penatrate more. Although many manufacters do make a suitable self defense round in this caliber with a jacked hollow point.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
Guys Im not afraid or unsure, but thx for the advice and help, maybe thats the approach people that are against guns have in the US, theyre afraid.
I didnt reply to say that Im against, I just know there are a lot of stupifd people everywere, but maybe its just me cause Im not into guns like you guys, but Im sure there are plenty of idiots.
My reply wasnt to be anti-guns or tho show what Im afraid off, as I said I really dont care.
If the law here permits guns, its ok with me, if not its ok with me. Like I give a fuck, the gouvernement will do and force whatever they want anyways any day.

Re: Yay or nay on assault weapons for home defense...
so where do you draw the line? can people with no real reason have belt fed mounted machine guns? how about gatling guns? when do you start saying 'you have no need for a weapon of that type'?. i now things may be bad where you live with crime and all that, but i think a heavy maching gun mounted in the back of a ute would be a whole new ball game.
this may sound like unrealistic situations, but with the attitude of some of the people here (all guns are great, everyone should have whatever they want) it doesn't seem that far out.
