i wasnt sure really were to post this but it is i guess a bout a law so if u got a pyrotechnics lisence from massachusetss would u be able to buy a flamthrower? or if not is there any liscense u can get to be able to own one

Maybe a curio and relic liscense. I'm not too sure if it would be regulated through the ATF or not.

even so most curio weapons that are other wise banned must be made non operational. if you want to own an automatic weapon as a curio the barrel must be pluged and i believe the bolt must be removed. i would imagine someting similar would apply to a flamethrower.

They have functional ones at machine gun shoots like Knob Creek, so there's a way to legally own one. The C&R was just a guess. I really don't know what you have to do to own one.

Or go look in your phonebook (usually towards the front) and find the number to the local B.A.T.F field office in your area. They should be able to answer, or research your question and contact you once they've made a determination. Offhand I couldn't say. Give them a call, asking a question isn't illegal.

Even if they say "yes" you should check with state law as well. Some local manicupalities may also have laws against such a device, however it's usually left up to the state to make that determination.
