Default stupid yanks & gun safety

I have just been on a plane from Vancouver to Toronto 2 sheroffs were on board with bullet proff vests, auto handguns, which were unloaded the mags were given to the captain.
Have you Americans thought about the ability of trained persons that can disarm a peace officer in a matter of a blink of a eye. Now you have an armed terrorists on board. The stewardess told me that no loaded guns are allowed on Canadian planes. The reasons are plain and very senseable. I have travelled in the U.S.ofA many times I am surprised by the lack of peoples knoweledge of gun safety. Art Bell is a case in point. I heard a caller call in once saying that he was hearing footprints running across his roof., but could not find any posible way that anyone could get on his roof. Art bell who has been in Vietnam and should know better. His reply was he should do what Art would do bring out his 9mm and start blasting. What an idiot you never pull the trigger unless you know where the bullet is going to land.I bet 90% of you american could not give me 3 more safety reasons why you should not pull the trigger in the same position?
Hurray for Canada where we do not allow schools of mercinaries, and have tight controls on handguns.

It's just a case of misused terminology, but I can guarantee they weren't auto handguns, you mean semi auto. It is pretty stupid to walk around with an unloaded gun.

I agree that most gun owners are complete idiots when it comes to safety. Most are too "proud" to admit they don't know shit about guns, therefore they won't get any training. It just gives the anti gun fuckers more leverage.

reasons:
1. Don't shoot at something that you can't see.

2. It might be just a kid fucking around meaning no harm at all.

3. Your life wouldn't be in any danger at the time, so if you did kill someone(slim chance since you can't see him) you would go to prison.

4. The bullets going to come down somewhere.

5. A 9mm would have lost alot of energy going through a ceiling, insulation, roof, and shingles and wouldn't do much good after that.

I can go on for quite awhile.

The mercanary remark didn't make any sense at all. Most mercs get their training in the military. America also has pretty restrictive handgun laws. America vs canada is a pointless argument in any forum, especially this one.

That's true, but somehow America is still one of the safest places to live. That speaks well for the rest of the world.

If anyone could comprehend your question i'm sure we would address it. In the meantime try becoming more proficient with the english language. For shit sakes man, only you know what point you are attempting to convey, we have no FUCKING CLUE!

#1 I can't pull the trigger three consecutative times in the same position. First shot = double action and subsaquent two are single action.

#2 One shot stops generally exist in hollywood not in real life. So if anything is worth shooting once, it's worth shooting twice.

I'm surprised about your lack of general intelligence period.

Loaded firearms are safe on board a airplane, period.

And on court tv the other evening there was a wonderful example of such.

Elderly family who ran a check cashing business out of the home in canada. Been denied a handgun from state officals. One month later get robbed by two individuals (one with a gun) who leave the elderly man with a bullet in the brain.

Canadian law how wonderful it is, when it restricts those who want to have a additional tool for lawful self defense.

there are idiot gunowners the world over... what does your geographical location have to do with it. As far as gun laws, in that sense i'm glad i live in america as opposed to canada
In america you cant fire a weapon at someone legally unless it's clear that it was either you or him. if someone just breaks into your house in the middle of the night, you are not within your rights to fire on him/her. Only if they pull a gun, knife, etc. on you and intend to use it, can you blast them.

Not true. In the state of texas unarmed intruders have been shot for stealing a VCR. Home owner got a handshake from the cheif of the police.

Here in florida (and other states) we have the castle docterine which bascially says I do not have to retreat from my residence before using lethal force. Therefore I could pop a intruder without too much justification and not have to worry about using "excessive force" giving the circumstances, i.e, middle of night, tired, scared, dark, etc.

i didn't know about texas. In Virginia, you have to be face to face with death. i believe the way it's worded is; there must be a immediate threat to your life or serious bodily harm. something like that. if the criminal is retreating, you cannont fire upon him. Once the threat is over, your right to use deadly force is gone.
retreating first ins't mandatory, but it's recommended in my experience.
i just don't want to be one of those people who killed some scum and then it's you in the hotseat. It can easily happen and it does happen frequently. I'd want my case to be as clean cut as possible.

This explains the legal aspects of busting a cap in someone's ass.
http://home.earthlink.net/~spwenger/spwforce.html

It's the same basic stuff taught at front sight in Nevada. Different states have different interpretations(sp?) of the same basic principals. Especially the part about the threat being unavoidable. California, you have to run from an armed criminal in your own house if you can. If he backs you into an unescapable corner, then you can shoot. In other states(castle doctrine that poop said), he can just be posing a threat to you and you don't have to run from him.

Hell me!

You dare to call a country where any moron can get a fucking gun, police can take away your car and your house without any evidence and you don't have a chance of getting it back, the incarceration rate is dramatically high and people who support all this shit go to church every sunday.
You call this fuckin' safe?

Ignorance is bliss...

Peace out,

I have been reading these topics on American gun laws for some time. I am a Brit so obviously have different ideas of what guns means in society. In simple what the fuck does anyone living in any part of the united states have for the use of machine guns and automatic weapons such as AK-47's and such. They are only good for war. And America is never going to have a war on home soil. Ok hunting rifles shotguns and handguns as it is part of your culture but jeusus. And you wonder why you ahve snipers going round killing people. A real hunter (animal) that is does not shoot from 600 yards but worms his way closer and closer. Yet you continue to sell these high powered rifles and your children get shot. I`m not saying you desreve it but it is self inflicted.

1) Gee whiz, limey, thanks for the constructive criticism. We'll try to address your grievances at the next board meeting.

2) The whole reason the right to keep and bear arms is protected in this country is to provide a strong deterrent against tyranny, domestic or otherwise. You see, we had this little thing called "the American Revolution," wherein we used those hunting rifles to throw your ass out of our country. I guess it worked alright, because we adopted the idea of an armed citizenry for use against future tyrants.

3) Although actual ground warfare on American soil seems unlikely, one needs to remember that the geostrategic situation can change dramatically over the course of a few years. Today nobody is battering at the gates of Washington, but to assume that such a situation will NEVER prevent itself is pretty silly. Anything is possible.

4) And if you think that armed revolt will never be necessary in America again, you're living in a fool's paradise. Although the democratic process remains dominant in America, there are plenty of loopholes for a tyrant to crawl through. Take a look at some of the executive orders regarding the Federal Emergency Management Agency if you don't know what I'm talking about. Even an outright coup isn't a total possibility. History is rife with such plots - had Smedley Butler not run up the hill to Congress back in the thirties, America might still be in the grips of fascism.

Now watch your mouth, or we'll just laugh the next time Germany gets ornary.

people are always bitching about how many lives are taken by fire arms each year. this is sad but how many are suicides, or criminals being shot committing a crime? is there a statistic that says how many lives are saved each year by firearms? not if its left to the media. a firearm is a tool and proper training is the key to using any tool.you say i dont need an ak-47? i say you dont need a car that can exceed the speed limit. no they are not the same i agree but only those who misuse firearms should be punished severly , and not let some cockroach lawyer plea bargain those charges away.the usa citizens are allowed to own class 3 weapons if they have a clean record and only one has been used in the comission of a crime..... by a cop!!!!!!using a weapon in self defence is one thing if you can prove that you thought your life was in danger. but blasting someone in the back who is running out the door with your tv just wont cut it in a courtroom.as far as crime goes its proven that the crime rate drops when concealed carry permits are issued to the public. imagine some maniac opening fire in a public place where 4 or 5 people have concealed carry permits and good traing! scenes like this would become very risky for any would be psycho.in isreal anyone stupid enough to try a shooting spree would be gunned down in seconds. tell me im wrong! as a criminal would you try mugging someone if you thought they were packing? i doubtit.

Not every moron can get a gun. But for the ones that do get one, I have a better one and can shoot more accurately.

Cops can be crooked, but examples like you listed are very rare.

The incarceration rate is high. However, prisons are not filled with people that are there for speaking out against the government. There's plenty of countries that are the opposite.

I don't go to church

I do call it safe when compared to most of the other countries on this planet.

You say ignorance is bliss, yet you probably haven't lived here. You make it sound like the police are driving around taking cars from people and criminals are running down the streets shooting at everything that moves. That's not how it is.

Not very many kids get shot by high powered rifles. Usually accidents happen with pistols that were left unlocked and accessable to uneducated children. There's not very many kids that know about gun safety that make a stupid mistake that ends in deatch. I'm all for teaching a class or 2 in school about gun safety. When I was in school, I watched countless videos and presentations on the evils of drugs, but never watched any on gun safety.

We still sell cars, and they are far more deadly than any gun that I know of. Cars kill alot more kids than guns do.

Doctors also kill alot more people than guns do. I can't find the number, but the number of acccidental deaths caused by doctors is drastically higher than accidental gun deaths.

Lol. Good point. I read somewhere that less than .02% of all registered weapons are used in crimes. Can anyone clarify/specify/correct that for me?

Also, I thought you had to be ex-military to own class 3?
