Man killed by daughter was shot 3 times (accidently?)
A Frisco woman who shot her father three times in the chest and told police the killing was an accident has been arrested on a murder charge, authorities said Tuesday.Woman says she shot father accidentallyLooks like the local PD aren't buying it either. If she planned this (which seems likely), her scheme fell apart after the second and third shot. BANG! Oops. BANG! Oops. BANG! Oops. http://www.dallasnews.com/localnews/city/collin/stories/090402dnplaarrest.5ebc3.html quote: 09/04/2002

A Frisco woman who shot her father three times in the chest and told police the killing was an accident has been arrested on a murder charge, authorities said Tuesday.
Cheryl Ann Franklin, 34, is accused in the death of 68-year-old James Cooper of Plano.
Ms. Franklin turned herself in late Monday at the Collin County Jail, where she was released after posting bond on $20,000 bail, said sheriff's Lt. John Norton. Ms. Franklin could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
Police declined to say whether they had identified a motive. A police affidavit in the case indicated that Mr. Cooper was lying on his bedroom floor when he was shot.
Police also declined to say which of the state's definitions of murder they believe fits the shooting, saying that determination will be made by the Collin County district attorney's office.
Under state law, murder can be defined as intentionally taking another person's life. Another provision in state law does not require proof of an intent to kill. Under that provision, murder is defined as killing another person by committing an act "clearly dangerous to human life" while trying to inflict serious bodily harm or carry out another felony.
The affidavit prepared by police to secure the warrant for Ms. Franklin's arrest used the "clearly dangerous" language but did not describe why investigators might think Ms. Franklin was trying to harm her father or commit a crime. Police declined to discuss details of the case Tuesday.
The shooting took place shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in Mr. Cooper's bedroom.
Ms. Franklin told officers that her father was on the floor watching a financial news program and making notes about his stock prices when she approached him with the gun to ask his opinion about cleaning it, the affidavit states.
She said she believed the gun a Ruger 9 mm pistol was unloaded but did not check it before beginning to show it to her father. She told police she remembered grasping the gun tightly before it suddenly went off, according to the affidavit.
After the shooting, Ms. Franklin "became hysterical and yelled for her mother's assistance," according to the affidavit. Mr. Cooper was taken to Medical Center of Plano, where he died. "She said she believed the gun a Ruger 9 mm pistol was unloaded but did not check it before beginning to show it to her father. She told police she remembered grasping the gun tightly before it suddenly went off, according to the affidavit.

It's amazing how many people get killed with an "empty" gun.

I don't think it was an accident. Like the cops that fire 5 warning shots, and the criminal gets hit 4 times
