Congress did NOT make it illegal for you to possess either a select fire (automatic) weapon or short barreled shotgun.

On the contary it is quite LEGAL! You can only own a machine gun manufactered prior to 1986.

A short barreled shotgun is classified as a AOW (any other weapon). Completely LEGAL!

Both of these are CLASS III/NFA firearms and require submission of a form four to the B.A.T.F.

It is quite a process but you can legally own them!

Restrictions on such devices are set by the STATE you live in.

For example in FLORIDA you can legally own a Supressed, Fully Auto or AOW.

Research your state!

Step #1 - Goto www.subguns.com (there is a section that describes on how to legally obtain a NFA firearm) then goto the B.A.T.F's website and do some research.

Step #2 - Find the item you are looking to buy.

Step #3 - Find a local (within your state) CLASS III firearms dealer who can accept the transfer or has the item in stock.

Step #4 - Purchase the item and recieve the paperwork.

Step #5 - Fill out the form four, get a passport size photograph done of you, have yourself fingerprinted (fingerprint card included) and take the form to have signed by your counties C.L.E.O (chief law enforcement officer).

Some C.L.E.O's won't sign and some will. Do some research into this!

Step #6 - Submit the forms along with a check for $200.00 (fee) and wait from 2-6 months.

You will then recieve (if approved) a tax stamp for the $200.00 fee and some paperwork. Bring it back to your local CLASS III dealer and pick up your new toy!

Of course you would have to be twenty one years of age. Practically no criminal history, etc.
